Shoe Help Please!!

John Smith, on May 29, 2020 at 2:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hi! I need help/advice/guidance on choosing my wedding shoes! My dress is about 2-3 inches too long barefoot, so I need shoes that give me 2-3 inches in height. However, it's an outdoor wedding so I want a block heel as opposed to a slim heel. I also want something that's more on the comfortable side and less than $100. I was looking at Tom's (see picture) which look super comfortable and I could definitely wear again after the wedding, but I'm worried that they are too casual for the dress (see picture). But will anyone even see them anyway? I found a pair of shoes on Nordstrom's (see picture), but they're way over budget ($235) and I'm not sure how comfortable they would be. Ideally I wanted to wear flats, but I'd like to avoid having to hem the dress.

Help!

I have those exact Tom’s pair of heels they are so comfortable!! I think the second pair looks more like a wedding pair. But get the Tom’s to change into, you won’t regret it!

Jewel by Badgley Mischka has a ton of shoes that look very similar to the second photo but at a lower price point!

You may also want to consider a simple nude or metallic block heel that will be dressy enough for your wedding dress but can easily be worn again!

I am having an outdoor ceremony on grass. I purchased a very elegant and dressy wedge heel from David's Bridal that is also incredibly comfortable.

These are the shoes I wore, and my dress. Part of me worried that they weren't fancy enough, but I decided it didn't matter since they wouldn't show. I bought them on clearance for $6 and they are so comfortable. I plan to take them to Jamaica for our honeymoon.

I love the Toms! No one is going to see your feet anyway. You can see my shoes in literally in 1 picture (out of 3,000)

I would go with the toms because it looks like you could use it beyond your wedding more

I also have those Tom's and they are very comfortable for heels. Meanwhile, I bought Badgley Mishka flats for my own wedding and I think I'm going to need back up shoes to change into in case they hurt too much. So, I would definitely vote for the Tom's. Your shoes will be hidden most of the time and those shoes are not so casual that they would look ridiculous if they did pop out from under the hem.

I agree that nobody will barely notice your shoes! I was looking for something similar also and I think I looked at Tom's, but I ended up getting these Kenneth Cole shoes off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076BVS4Y8/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_HZd1Eb3P9K8QM
I have worn them around and they are pretty comfortable!

I would go with the Tom's. No one is going to see your shoes, but you will feel them. You want to be comfortable.

It’s always interesting how “comfortable” and “cute” rarely exist in the same heel. Unfortunately, I’m not a Toms fan in general so the 2nd shoe would be my choice out of the two. However if comfort is the main goal, then go with the first shoe because, as you mentioned, it won’t be seen.

I would keep looking. The Toms look comfortable and the 2nd pair just a little too glitzy. I would try to find something in between.
