Share something positive in this thread!!

Jennifer, on March 15, 2020 at 10:54 PM Posted in Community Conversations 4 58
Like everyone else, I’m beyond worried and stressed over the thought of my wedding being ruined by this damn virus. I pray that it ends soon so we can all get back to normal.

Because I’m feeling so overwhelmed and come here to get comfort in knowing others are in the same boat as me, I wanted to start a thread to share positivity.
If anyone has ANYTHING positive to share- whether it’s hopeful news about this, something good that happened to you, etc. please share. ❤️

I was about on the verge of tears tonight after being overwhelmed with all this mess. I reached out to most of my vendors and they're all still on board! 34 more days and dammit we are going to make this wedding happen!! 😂

We were finally able to tell our parents yesterday that they are going to be grandparents in the fall 😊. I was a little apprehensive about telling at this time because it doesn’t feel important compared to what’s going on in the world. But everyone said they were grateful for a little piece of joy in a scary time.

We picked our tuxes this weekend! It was awesome and no one at Men's Wearhouse said anything about the damn virus! Finally a conversation that didn't revolve around it. I know I should be concerned but our wedding is still 180 days away so I think by then things will calm down. Right now we are getting ready to take my FH's nieces in. They live in Michigan we live in Wisconsin. My FSIL is volunteering to go to Ohio to help out. So this should be interesting.

Oh this is interesting! We are doing tuxes too and are about 190 days out. How far out do the guys order their tuxes vs picking them out?

They adults need to be measured by June 12th, my ring bearer by August 12th. We have the pick up date for the Thursday before the wedding. We plan on having all the tuxes ready for pick up in our town just so those traveling don't have to worry about traveling with the tux. You can change that as well with a simple phone call. We weren't sure what we wanted to do so we just asked what would work best for everyone and everyone said they would rather pick up in our town.

It’s almost time for our #honeymoonathome! Italy can wait.

I am really looking forward to dancing to our favorite songs barefoot in the living room, making homemade pasta and bread with some of the kitchen equipment we received for gifts, driving the backroads with the top down in our convertible, drinking up all the wine we bought before the liquor store closed, and listening to my husband play the guitar on our balcony. And of course, cuddling up with our dog on the couch while reading postapocalyptic fiction!!
What a story for the grandkids.

I found and purchased dresses for my flower girls and daughters. Last weekend my bridesmaids all found their dresses and it was such an easy appointment they were all super sweet and patient. No attitudes or anything. I bought shapewear and lastly I booked our honeymoon to Costa Rica instead the end of October and bought plane tickets since they are so affordable... feeling good

I'm getting married on April 4th in NC and I'm planning on moving forward. My venue is not cancelling any weddings (of course unless a mandate is put out barring all group events, etc). Our guest list is well under 100 people and I assume I will be getting messages through the next two weeks with cancellations. I put a post on social media to let our guests know that if they're sick/do not want to travel/do not want to be around crowds, to please let us know and stay home. I would assume I would not be able to get refunds for a majority of our vendors if we were to cancel at this point. It's a tough, unimaginable situation for all brides right now.
