Shapewear help!

Jennifer, on November 18, 2021 at 1:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I'm looking for my dress. I really want to be open to a low back/backless option, but I'm a big girl with a "B-shaped" belly and I want to be able to wear shapewear to conceal my stomach somewhat.
Are there any options for me that would allow me the best of both worlds?
Thank you ❤

Hi there! I've been looking for something similar, and I used this one for a bridesmaid dress: http://spanx.com/products/suit-your-fancy-plunge-low-back-mid-thigh-bodysuit

It definitely depends on the dress itself, though. I would recommend finding the dress that you love, and then finding shapewear solutions to fit the dress, not the other way around.

Honeylove has the best reviews I’ve read on the forum. Most ladies get the dress first and look for shapewear that accommodates it. If you want a low/open back dress, your best option is ask the local seamstress doing alterations to add boning as if you were wearing a corset.

Hi Jennifer! There are a lot more creative shapewear items now to help accommodate all of those low-back wedding dresses!! There are low rise shorts, but I think the bodysuits work best!

Honeylove was a no-go for me. The compression on the belly just moved everything around to the sides. Some of us girls need 360 degree compression, for sure.

Again it depends on the dress, so consult with your tailor about this. If you know you want maximum compression, ask if a corset will work. Essentially, they are designed to suck in much more than the average shapewear panty.

edit: sorry, didn't mean to necropost, just noticed the timestamps.
