Setting Up???

Erika, on April 29, 2021 at 10:52 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 11
We are having about a dozen guest tables, a sweetheart table, dessert table, misc table (little favor bin, guest book, etc), and a few cocktail tables to set up. Plus the ceremony are to decorate. Ceremony and reception are at the same venue.

I don’t really want to hire someone to decorate. Do you think it would be fine if myself and a group larger than my bridal party go setup early am? What have you done/plan to do???

Would your venue allow you to decorate the night before? I would be really nervous to do it the day of and count on everything going as planned and on schedule (because things rarely work out that way with weddings). We have hired a team to set everything up for us the evening before, then finishing touches and florals will happened the morning of, under the direction of a coordinator.

Luckily we are using sola wood flowers so that wouldn’t be an issue. Our reception will be in tents outside. And the ceremony is outside by a pond. Maybe I will decorate the inside of the tent the night before and send a few girls to the venue morning of to decorate the ceremony. Idkkkkk lol

I have helped set up the morning before a 12pm wedding and it was just fine. I was dating the bride's brother at the time and helped the bride's family set up tables and other decorations while the bride and her party were off getting their hair done. Completely doable but I would get others outside the bridal party to help if at all possible!

Totally agree! If you decide to do any decorating the morning of, I would definitely enlist the help of people who are not in the wedding party

Yes! Def will be having atleast 4 ppl outside of the wedding party helping me. Which I think is plenty. And our ceremony will not begin until about 2:30!

My groom and I set up our own wedding with a handful of friends. It was the smoothest part of the day!

We are planning to do our own setup the day before/earlier that day and have access to our venue Friday-Sunday for our Saturday wedding. I'm planning on doing it with my husband and whichever friends and family want to help.

I was originally going down that road but decided to hire a day of coordinator who will do the decorating. For my peace of mind I didn’t want to be stressed trying to rush out of there for hair and makeup. It ultimately always takes longer than you think.

I was so stressed out about this also. My future mother in laws 2 bestfriends are going to get the venue ready and make sure the vendors know what goes where.
