September or Early October Wedding in PA

Rachel, on June 30, 2011 at 5:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I live in Pennsylvania.. I thought I had a place I wanted to do the wedding and reception in October, but now I found a place I really like outside. I don't know if the weather in September or early October is ok for an outside wedding and reception.

Rachel, you should be able to find a website that will show you the projected highs & lows for 10/20 in your area and the chance of rain. It's been a long time since I lived there, but I remember having to wear a coat under a Halloween costume more than one year.

Rachel - where in PA are you located? It all depends on where you are (mountains, towards MD or OH?) I live in Berks County and October can go either way - very cold or very warm. An outside wedding might be iffy :-(

You will probably have better luck with early to mid September. That's not to say that the beginning of October can't be beautiful. One year I went up to VT for my birthday (October 7th) and I was expecting gorgeous, cool weather. It was 80 freaking degrees! But if you really want an outdoor wedding and don't want to chance it, I'd go with September. But that's just me.

Anyway, howdy neighbor! Where have you been looking?

My fiance said to me his one condition is he doesnt want it to be hot.. I dont know what to do!

And howdy! Smiley smile I have been looking at CJ HUmmels and the Evergreen Country Club. One is more expensive and nicer, but I kinda want more casual.

They both look lovely! I'm not familiar with the two places mentioned, but then again, I've only lived here for about two years.

What if you compromise? How about having the ceremony outside and the reception indoors (with maybe a patio for people to go out if they so choose). This way, if it's too hot, you can stay inside with the AC cranked up!
