Separate ceremony and reception venues...invitations?

Mrs. DeNigris, on December 15, 2016 at 9:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Random question...if the ceremony and reception are at different locations, how do you format the invitation? Do you put the address for both places? And if so, how do you make it fit?

I know it's totally early to be thinking about this, but I was just curious what you all think.

You do a separate card with the reception information on it.

I'm only doing one for our separate locations.

We had our ceremony on the actual invitation and inserts with information about the reception, hotel block, etc

I have been wondering the same thing. My venue was the same spot for ceremony and reception. I had to change my date so I had to change my venues and now there is a chapel for ceremony and a separate place for the reception.

I'll trust the experts on here to weigh in and enlighten us.

@Anne we got married at a chapel as well, that is the only location/time we put on the actual invitation

I am having my ceremony at church and reception at venue. Listed both locations on invitation like Liz's example.

We did church address on the invite and "reception to follow." Then we had an insert card that had the reception information on it.

I am putting both on the invitation. Depending on the style of invitation, you can fit it. I like the idea of having it on one piece of paper because it is less to keep track of as a guest.

It's too early for me to make them, but have still been brainstorming. I was thinking maybe having the address of the church and then reception to follow. Then add a directions insert with the address of the venue and how to get there

We are doing a separate card with the reception information. The address and ceremony information will be on the invitation.

I feel like everything on the invite is too cluttered. If you can afford it, purchase inserts.

We are doing just the ceremony on the invite and an insert with the reception info on it
