Sending wedding invites to a work address

Kelly, on January 16, 2023 at 4:51 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5
Hello, I was wondering if it is ok to send wedding invites to a work address as opposed to a home address. I’m not sure what the etiquette is for that. This is for my mom’s bosses and a couple of her co-workers. Thanks.

I would have her get their home mailing address. Recieveing something personal, like mail, at work isn't very professional even if it is for the boss.

Mom needs to request their home addresses. Like Alyssa said, it’s not proper to send invites for a personal event to someone’s work address.

They should be passed out discreetly at work, not in front of anyone else, or request home addresses

Your mom should either get their home addresses or pass them out in person. Sending them to the office would pretty much guarantee people who aren't invited will be part of the chain of delivery, and that can get dicey.

It can definitely be tricky to know the protocol in situations like this.

In general, it is perfectly fine to send wedding invites to a work address if that is the most current and accurate address you have for the individual. Just keep in mind that they may not have the same level of privacy at their work as they do at their home, so be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for them to RSVP.

Also, it might be a good idea to check in with your mom or her bosses and co-workers to make sure that they're comfortable with receiving the invitation at work. Just to be on the safe side.

Sending invites to a work address is perfectly acceptable.
