Sending invitations 7 months in advance??

I've already received invitations for weddings in August 2015 and October 2015. My wedding is in June 2015 and I'm not even close to sending mine out!

My sister received both invitations also (they're both from family) and said that it looks weird that our whole family has received invites for my cousins' weddings that are 2 and 4 months later than mine, but haven't received my invitation yet. She thinks I should send mine ASAP.

I was planning to send them mid-April. Should I send them sooner?

Why on earth do people send invitations for weddings that are 7 months away?! They're not destination weddings.

I'm sending ours the first of April, and our wedding is 6/6/15. Unless you are having a destination wedding, 7 months is way too far in advance.

C&S, I think 1st week of April would be good. I'm planning to send mine out around the first week of May (12 weeks before the wedding) with RSVP date on June 15 (6 weeks before the wedding). Wedding is on August 2nd.

I wouldn't send the invites early just because the others did. Stick to your original plan, your family will probably regret sending them that early later down the line.

Hey date twin! I'm sending out my invites the first week of April, and my RSVP date is May 23rd. We do have a lot of OOT guests, but we sent out STDs so we're sending invites within a 'normal' time frame. I think your plan is fine, if its a local wedding I don't know why your cousins sent theirs out so early. My cynical side thinks they might be trying to steal the spot light from each other (and you). Don't worry about them.

Isn't that what STDs are for? Those brides are crazy.

Are the RSVP dates ridiculously early for these weddings as well? If so, I would also be worried about people who RSVP one way but then change their mind. I would stick with the original plan for sending them out and not worry about what your cousins are up to.

As stated above, two to three months is standard, so you are fine!

I'll be sending mine out 4 1/2 months early since I have many people flying in from many other states/countries. This way they may be able to search for cheaper flights. Plus, this gives my family more work-around time for jobs and other scheduled events.

Our wedding is June 13th and we plan to mail out the invitations mid-March. Ours is a destination wedding (only about 2 hours north). I think your timeline is fine, and I wouldn't stress on that.
