Sending a Celebrity an invite

Amanda, on December 8, 2017 at 11:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

We are considering sending an invite to a few different celebrities. We know they most likely won't come and will send a letter or autograph back.

So knowing this do we still send them all the same inserts that you send with a regular invite? I.e accommodation card and RSVP card and envelope

Try putting Paging @Deena in your title, she just made a post about doing this for her husband recently.

I guarantee they won't come. I don't get the whole fascination with getting a letter or autograph signed by a machine but, you do you.

If it's important enough for you to send them an invitation, I would send the whole suite.

I tried sending Ed Sheeran an invite, requesting he attend as the groom. He did not respond.

My friend invited the Obama family, and they got a card back. It is framed in their house.

It depends on the celebrity. If it is someone who was popular perhaps 20 years ago and is not now, you might be in luck. However, YOU HAVE TO PAY THEM AND IT WILL NOT BE CHEAP AT ALL. A new celebrity or a popular celebrity will more than likely not attend.

I wanted to send one to John Stamos asking him to be the groom but thought.....nah.

I sent our invitation with a letter explaining husbands love for UT and a stamped envelope in case we might get something back. We did our RSVP's online so I didn't have a card like that to send. Our invitation was returned in a different envelope since the one I sent was too small. I'm not sure how I will top future gifts for my husband now other than actually getting Peyton Manning in person. =P

I'm not expecting the celebrities to actually attend but I think it would be cool if they sent something back like a letter or autograph. I think it could be something sentimental.

I was really just asking if we should send the whole suite or just the invite since the RSVP and accommodation card will obviously not be used or probably even looked at.

We're sending one to John Barrowman, I've already contacted his publicist lol. They surprised the hell out of me when they emailed me back with the mailing information to get it to him. They did admit that he most likely would not be able to attend but with John Barrowman you just never know what he's going to do lol he may just show up in an evening gown. We're sending the whole set, otherwise we'll have extras of everything except the invitation so I don't see the point of not sending them along to.

How did I just find this thread? FH is thinking about inviting some of his favorite baseball players. Hopefully he’ll get a letter back since they responded to him via twitter.
