Selling wedding gown

Amanda, on June 24, 2020 at 8:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Has anyone purchased a gown and then realized it’s not the one and needs to sell a brand new dress that’s never been altered. I spent $2,700 on a Martina Liana that I simply don’t love anymore. If I could even get back $2,000 I would be happy. Selling wedding gown 1

    It’s so pretty !
Try places like Facebook marketplace or apps like offerup and posh mark and Mercari

You could try Still White, it’s a site where brides sell their wedding dresses. I looked at dresses there since I was on a budget but ended up buying at a sample sale. Unaltered hopefully you’ll have a better chance getting close to $2000. Good luck!

Can you at least exchange it for another dress?

    Hi Amanda,

I was in the EXACT same predicament. I fell out of love with a Martina Liana dress. I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I bought a new dress and posted the Martina Liana dress on Preownedweddingdresses.com. I posted it in December for $2200 and even dropped the price to $1900 and haven’t received any hits. So yes, it’s very difficult to sell your dress online for what you paid for. I think I could probably sell it if I drop the price significantly, but I’m not there yet.
    I hope this helps!

I am also having buyers remorse with my dress ...not to mention it is now 4 sizes too large and I’m struggling with the idea of trying to sell and rebuy or just Keep it and

    That’s a gorgeous dress.

If you’re sure you want to sell it, I’d list it on multiple sites, and for a little more than you really want to get for it.
And beware of scam buyers!! They will ask you for your email to pay you with pay pal, totally not necessary but they’ll have a story on why they need to do it like that. Or they’ll want to pay with a cashiers check...very easy to forge these days...often they’ll want to send you a check for more than your asking price, and ask you to send them the difference. Anyway, all that to say be careful and insist on using PayPal on whichever site you’ve listed it on.

I had my eye on Martina Liana 1059 since (possibly before?) I was engaged. When I went dress shopping, I went to 3 different places, and it was the last dress I tried on - instantly I knew it was the one. But, I didn't want to pay the hefty price tag. I ended up finding the exact same dress, in my size, unaltered, never worn on Poshmark. Paid $1,200 for a $2,600 dress. List it everywhere you can - there will definitely be someone out there who wants to buy it! Smiley smile

Yes, I know the feeling all too well! I've been in the same boat... several times now as much as it sucks. I would definitely post on stillwhite, preownedweddingdresses, nearlynewlywed, oncewed, poshmark, curtsy, eBay, marketplace, etc. try listing it wherever you can as you'll have a much higher chance of selling it if you do so. Seems as if tons of brides find themselves in this situation... some more than once. I wish you the best of luck 😊

I don't know about fees or anything, but I would also post on Tradesy. I have been looking for dresses on there too. There are a few dresses that I have my eye on. Good luck Smiley heart
