Selling wedding dress, where? How does shipping work?

Lindsey, on May 26, 2021 at 4:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I haven’t completely made up my mind if I want to sell my dress yet but I’m leaning towards it so I’m hoping for some insight. I don’t have Facebook so FB marketplace is out of the question. I know there’s websites specifically for selling wedding dresses but is it worth it? Do they take a percent? Also how the heck do you even ship a wedding dress?! And last question for anyone who has sold their dress, did you regret it? Something about not having my dress anymore makes me sad even though it will just sit in a closet!

I bought my dress from some on poshmark. So poshmark does take a percent but the lady still made a good amount. And poshmark sends you a shipping label and you just have to box it up. It’s pretty simple. But if you want to keep it maybe try and get it preserved?

I sold and bought on Still White and it was super easy and they don't take a % of the price. They do a flat $20 fee for listing it and that's it. It will stay up until sold. Or you could do premium for $30 and there's some extra perks like your listing will stay on the first page get promoted more and you can add more pictures.

When I bought my dress I was responsible for shipping cost. I gave the seller my address and they calculated shipping - it was $16 and was tracked and insured. It came in a larger shipping box in the original dress bag and then the dress bag was wrapped in trash bags to protect it in case of rain. It came in perfect condition in my opinion.

I sold a dress that I never wore (wedding is in Oct) and just felt pressured to buy and I no longer love. It sucks but I can't get married in it. The dress I bought I love and feel amazing in so it's totally worth eating some cost of the first dress. I can't give insight on if I will sell the one I actually wear on my wedding day though sorry!
