See through wedding dresses?!

ZeldaBride, on October 25, 2015 at 10:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Have you all seen this yet?? George Takei shared it on Facebook and I immediately thought of WW.

Why not save the 20k and just walk down the aisle naked? I completely agree with the statement that the elegance of the gown has been stripped away.

I saw this when George Takei posted it as well. Imagine... Here comes the bride. And her nipples.

My mom saw some on SYTTD and was obsessed with finding one at the salon for giggles. I refused to try it in, but we had a good laugh. Who actually wears these? The one we found was just the corset that was see through, but I did try on a dress with a front slit up to my belly button-no joke!

There must be an error, these cannot be wedding dresses! They look like they are for the night of wedding. I don't understand why anyone would even wear these, my grandma and dad will be there. Just ewww. And as a side note, I am so over this trend of see-through dresses.

Nothing about those says wedding to me. I just can't imagine a grand entrance with something like that.

These look like they would be more appropriate to wear on the wedding night.

Save the lingerie for the wedding night and the honeymoon. I think Pnina Tornai may have started this awful trend (I clicked on the WW gowns feature yesterday and checked out her collection. She may have had three gowns out of 30 that were truly beautiful and understated. The rest looked like they were burlesque costumes that would be removed in layers by stage performers. I don't get it, and I don't get the fascination with her. I think she's highly overrated).

I agree with Centerpiece--it definitely started with Pnina. I remember one girl on an old episode of SYTTD asking to have the lining taken out because the dress wasn't see-through enough! And her dad insisted that they do it. It was like a $10K dress too!

Totally agree, @Centerpiece. I've seen episodes of SYTTD where brides spend upwards of $20K on a Pnina gown. That's my entire wedding budget, and they spend that amount on a gaudy dress which will only be worn for a few hours. Awful...

God no. It looks like they forgot the top layer of the dress or that that's the lingerie for later that night. Actually, a couple of them look quite similar to my trousseau. I just can't imagine wanting to be half naked in front of your whole family on your wedding day.

It really speaks volumes of what's happening to our society that women have to be sexualized even on their wedding day.

Most of it was to ugly for even lingerie. (in paticular the one that looks like she is wearing a torn lace onesie with a white sweater tied around her waist). I tried on a couple dresses with open sides and I though that was to much skin. I cant imagine anyone actualy wearing any of these (including most celebrities) on there wedding day plus they are pretty ugly in general.....

p.s. I kinda liked Pnina Tornai dresses on SYD the were pretty much sheer on just the torso and they actualy had beautiful details
