Second guessing wedding dress

I initially had a vision of wearing a combination of a sleek modern slip dress along with a sheer silk organza wrap top for my ceremony (pictured in first photo collage). The brand is De La Rosa, but since they’re based in Hawaii and don’t have any other stockists close to me, I couldn’t try on. I LOVE this look, but wasn’t sure how to figure out if it would work for my body type. The blouse I feel comfortable ordering online without trying on, but the dress felt like too much of a gamble, so I started looking for similar slip style dresses locally that I could try.

I also went to my first dress appointment where I tried on some other, more structured dresses to see if I would like the look of them more and feel comfortable.
I tried on a few dresses (pics attached) some of which I liked, but didn’t feel like I was ready to pick one.
Then I found a slip dress that was pretty similar to the one I loved, so I went to try it on at my local grace loves lace showroom. The appointment was SO much more helpful than my previous one, and I love that they take way more measurements and actually make the dress to your measurements so it’s a much closer fit than standard made to size dresses. I really liked the dress, and my mom liked it and thought I should buy it. I wish that I had waited and taken some time to think about it, because I’m so worried I may not have made the right choice now. I know the dress will look good, and would plan to wear it with the organza wrap, but I’m worried it looks too much like a nightgown, and that with my small chest and more pear shaped hips it’s not as flattering as the more fitted structured styles I had tried on.
I can still cancel the order for a fee. Does anyone have any honest advise to offer? The slip dress I tried was a bit too big in the top; so would be a bit more fitted there than in the photos, and less long on my actual dress. It also wouldn’t have the lace detail. I think you look FABULOUS. this is very in style right now and with your hair done and jewelry it will look understated, elegant, and timeless. With this type or dress you can do more ornate accessories or still keep it really simple.

I think you look amazing in every single one of those dresses, so it won't really matter which you choose as you have lovely taste.

I love the idea of the organza overlay, which I think will de-nightgown your original slip. If that was your vision I totally think you should go for it!

Honestly, those slip dresses are in my opinion very difficult to carry off and look decent (I certainly couldn't!) and yet you look beautiful and romantic in one, so it seems almost a shame to not choose it.

Which of these dresses did you feel most beautiful, most bridal, and most special in? I would pick whichever one gave you those type of feels!

I like how you added the wraps to accessorize the top. I’m definitely not seeing a pear shape if your worried about looking disproportionate, I’m not seeing this at all. I honestly like the dress. To me it gives off a vintage vibe. This style of dress was popular in the 40’s. Of course your dress is an updated version. I like picture #4 with the asymmetrical wrap that floats down the side. It’s very chic. The second to the last picture is my least favorite only because I feel it’s dragging you down with the dropped shoulders. Your dress is so versatile, I can’t imagine you’ll have a problem making it exactly what you want. I too went with an unstructured dress, I felt the structured ones were too stiff and uncomfortable and if you already have a great shape you don’t need a structured dress. I agree on the timeless elegance factor of your dress. One you have it all together your going to look elegant and ready to get married not ready for bed.

I love the first one shown it that is the De La Rosa! It’s very romantic and you have the figure to pull it off!

Since you tried on a similar style dress I say go for it if it’s what you really want. You ought to be able to get your measurements and base it off of De La Rosa’s size chart to order an appropriate size.

Slip dresses are SO hard to pull off…. and you are KILLING IT! You look lovely in all of them, but the slip dress is definitely my favorite.
