Seating for a micro-wedding - help!

Gwendolyn, on June 10, 2021 at 11:37 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8

Hi everyone!

I'm 39 days out and starting to think about seating now that we know who all is coming. Unfortunately, our guest list of 14 is now down to 8 (my grandparents, SOs parents, my aunt, uncle and little cousins). I'm trying to figure out the most optimal seating, which is proving to be a lot for my brain.

I sent this picture to my grandma (without the letters indicating who was where) and she asked for an aisle seat. Thinking about it, my MIL is also going to want an aisle.

My little cousins (c - 7 & 10) are my "bubble girls". Any thoughts on how to optimize the seating so there are no "bad seats"? I'm not very good at this!

I would have four aisle seats on each side

Would you space them out so no one is directly behind someone else? I'm worried then they are leaning for a better view. Who knew 8 chairs would be so difficult!

The small things can get so difficult! Could you sort of have and angle?
If not, and you do them maybe two rows of two, I’d seat first by closeness of relationship.

I also overthink everything - so seating has been throwing me through a loop.

I think 2 rows of two is how I'm going to go, with them angled it and sort of spaced so those in the second row can still see. Thank you!!

Overthinking is par for the course this close!

We are over a year out and I just got stressed out wondering if the out of town guests are going to want some sort of entertainment/gathering the day after!

With only 8 seats, there are no bad seats.

I imagine certain people want aisle seats so that they are not having to pass in front of anyone.

Are your cousins the children of your aunt/uncle who are attending? Are they the grandchildren of your grandparents? Ask if aunt/uncle would mind if they sat on the side with grandma and grandpa, and they sat on the side with SOs parents.

    Like so:

    (C) (C) (G) (G) [aisle] (M) (F) (A) (U)

I wouldn't put four aisle seats, that makes everyone sit by themselves.

They are the children of my aunt and uncle (and are on my family side, if that matters).

I think I landed on 2 rows of 2 seats, the kiddos will sit behind my grandparents and across the aisle from my parents so they are surrounded by people who will keep an eye on them haha. I have definitely spent too much time looking at it, overthinking, debating, etc. You are right that there wouldn't be any bad seats!

Oh gosh, I'm on that worry now as well! Every one is from out of town (except us). Good luck!! Hopefully they already have some things in mind.
