Seating chart idea!

Haleigh, on April 24, 2018 at 11:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14
Like a lot of you ladies I was struggling with how to display a seating chart. I toyed around with the idea of getting a poster printed but I didn't like that once I printed it it was set in stone, had to frame it and then had to get yet another easel. Didn't like escort cards because then we needed another table. I was stuck! Came across these chalkboard banners at hobby lobby! Super stable, 8 to a strand and totally fit the shabby chic vibe! And CHEAP. Hope this can inspire some!

Wow, this is super creative and different! Is that your handwriting? Pretty handwriting is my weakness.

Where were you planning to hang them?

Innovative idea but it is going to take your guests a while, as they have to read each and every pennant to find their name. Another way to do that would have been to list the names alphabetically, with the table number following the name.

Enlighten me on how it would be more efficient to comb through escort cards or find your name in an even smaller print with a poster print out?

I lucked out with my venue having these beautiful French doors displayed in back of the display table right when you walk in! So they will be hung across that!

Think she just meant putting them alphabetically on the pennants...meaning A last names on one pennant, B's on the next, etc. etc.

You definitely wouldn't need one for every letter of the alphabet, you'd probably just have a few handfuls of letters at most

That's not what I suggested. I know it's too late for you, but sharing tips can be helpful for other brides.
The pennants would look exactly the same except instead of each pennant being for one table, all the names would be written alphabetically with a table number following the name .

Here is an example using separate pages. In your case, each pennant would be a page.

I did something similar - just printed on cardstock that matched our invitations and they were hung with clothespins on twine across an antique folding partition.. Since people weren't really in a rush to find their seat immediately and sit down, there wasn't really a problem with people scanning over the names to find theirs and then their table number. I don't think you need to worry!

I'm not 😊 Was just posted a solution to a problem I see a lot of brides posting about on here. I was going to do that before I found these! I was actually at hobby lobby purchasing small clothes pins

That’s such a cute idea! We went a little rustic & used an old shutter. It was super cheap and wicked easy.
