Seating Chart Help. Please?

Rhonda, on October 4, 2015 at 7:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

13 days away. FH and I both finalized together, our seating arrangements last night. What is everyone doing for their seating charts/place cards? We looked into those free chalkboard templates but there seems to be something wrong with each of them. Some problem or another that takes us back to square 1. I'm running out of steam. Need wedding planning morale. Its not too late for this right?? We are open to downloading templates, but we are both no photoshop experts, LOL. We learned that about each other tonight. Posters. Anything. Do you think it is too late to order?

Have you checked Etsy? I'm sure you can find someone to send the list to and they can create something you can print within a few days.

I got Avery tent cards and used the templates from Avery.com. I had them printed at Office Depot for less than $5

I'm having the same person who did my invitations do the place cards.

I'm doing more of assigned seating (recommendation of our vendor, due to the setup of how our wedding reception is going to be).

I am most likely going to do it myself on word. For my word document I set the paper parameters to 16X20 and will be doing the seating chart alphabetically. Then I will print it at Office Depot or Staples.

I will handwrite the place cards (the back of the place cards will be coded for the meal). The place card holder is the "favor" that each guest will receive. - so those place cards and holders will be preplaced at the tables.

I do think that Etsy might be able to get it to you in time - but you can look at the different Etsy shops and message them to see if it is possible.

We found an old window and instead of doing place cards, we will just list the names on cards in the window panes.. I have seen it where you get an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet that you typed up enlarged at like a Staples and its a poster. Pinterest has some great ideas that arent really needy!

I know you said you were running out of steam, but for our daughter's wedding it was all DIY. Used word for the chart using three columns of names and a fancy font. Saved it to a flash drive and had Office Depot print it out on poster size paper. Bought a cheap frame from Walmart, stuck it on an easel, and there you go.

Our table numbers were the tented style printed at home on card stock (flipped the card around so it got printed on both sides). Looked great!

I did a seating chart by table number. Just made in excel and had printed on 18 x 24 foam board and laminated prior to wedding at office max. I could send you Excel template if you want!

Zazzle has poster seating charts and I believe they are 30% off right now.

We just bought the tent cards, printed the image on them, and then handwrote the table numbers in case things changed last minute, easy peasy.

We did this and we loved it.

it was done in alphabetical order so it was easier for the guests to find their name

Tent cards are probably your easiest bet as others have said. Staples sells them and there is online software that is very simple to use to make them. It's much simpler than photoshop. Our venue is providing us with coasters and we will make labels to stick on them.

We bought a seating chart Word design template off Etsy. It has all the proper layout and print border, and comes with table number cards too.

We filled in the guest names, printed them out on card stock at FedEx, cut the cards out, and stuck them on a large board from Michael's. The board looked pretty nice in the end Smiley smile .

The guy that did mine is in RI...I see you're in MA - Let me know if you want me to ask him how much he charges and how fast he can do it. He's a friend so he gifted us the seating chart. Don't forget you would need an easel for it.

Or i guess you can put it on top of a table...??

FMP - could you message me his contact info? I might be interested in seeing if he would be able to do it for our wedding.
