Seat savers

Jolene, on November 19, 2012 at 3:12 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

I am in the process of making this for the reception. It is so a person won't come back from the buffet or dancing and not have their seat, since they will not have a seating chart.

What should I do differently or add?

Thanks.

Its a good concept. My only suggestion is to make a few and leave them at the table, not one for each guest/seat. May over crowed the table, (I hate clutter!!) and it's not like every person will be away from the table at the same time. Happy planning!

Those look very nice. But I agree with Jacinda, I dont think you need to put the guests names on there. Just put a few on each table.

Otherwise if you were going to the trouble of making a card with everyone's name on them you could just make place cards, whether or not you have assigned seating, they could still just take their name card and put it at their seat.

Thanks everyone. Yes, I am putting a couple on each table. No, I am not putting names on them. I am not doing a seating chart because the venue recommended that I not.

Just don't want someone to go to the buffet and return with food and have a mingler sitting in their place.

Oh, I see what you're talking about. The names on the bottom are the bride and groom. Lol

I agree with Amy's suggestion of making up name cards. You don't need to make up a seating chart to use name cards. Have them all set out on a table as your guests enter the reception area with a little sign saying something like "Please place your name card at a seat of your choice in order to save your seat"

I like that Kiera. I wasn't going to do name cards since I wasn't doing assigned seating, but I might consider that.
