Scared of all the attention?

I thought it was just me! I've been dreading walking down the aisle since I was a child. The idea of everyone standing and staring at me is HORRIFYING.

Do a first look, don't write your vows; either repeat after your officiant or simply say, 'we do". You could sit down through the ceremony too.

Or you could elope.

You get so wrapped up in the wedding and the moments you're having that you'll forget about that fear of being center of attention.

Hunty yes! I don't like a lot of attention. I rather just disappear in the backround. Nervous is an understatement. Lol.

I get nervous just thinking about it. Im going to have a few drinks while getting ready, so I feel more relaxed.

I am the same way! I am feeling nervous (even though we have a small wedding planned) but, as others have said, I am just going to try to focus on FH and remember that all of our friends and family love us and support us, and that is a beautiful thing! :-)

This is such a great thread! @Bee I'm right there with you! I really thought I was the only one so I was even embarrassed to ask for thoughts on this.

I ugly cried when my fiancé proposed, ugly cried again when I told my parents... actually I ugly cried before I told them I just held up my hand because I couldn't talk lol..

I just don't want to be an emotional wreck. I cry at everything! Those ASPCA commercials.. I ball! So I'm nervous. I'm on anti-anxiety medicine and have xanax but it makes me so drowsy I don't want to take it during my wedding.

This is one big reason why we eloped.

Eek. I had thought about this before and quickly dismissed it because I have so many other things to do and focus on before the big day. But I don't like to be the center of attention or have all eyes on me. I am now more scared after reading this and all the comments but know it will be just fine!

I hate attention too and I've def freaked out thinking about all the attention that'll be on me.... you're not alone.

You are NOT alone! I am very much a shy stand offish person! I'll be poppin some Xanax for sure

I'm feeling the exact same way! In order to help we'll be keeping the guest list on the smaller side, doing a first look (maybe even a breakfast date), and I'm thinking reciting traditional vows will help. They're simple, and I can practically memorize them. I know if I read something that I wrote myself, I would become so anxious and flustered, and my face gets red as a tomato when I get embarrassed!

I am right there with you, almost in tears begging my FH to just elope even if it would disppoint my parents. We did decide on a small intimate ceremony then a bigger reception.

Your not alone it freaks me out, i do not like being in front of people, i hate my picture taken and i dont dance all things that im having to do on this day.
