Save the dates vs invitations only

Lisa, on August 20, 2019 at 11:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 2
Hello, I am getting married next October in ohio. My family and friends will be coming from California. I am trying to save money and eliminate save the dates but I am curious since my guests will need time to plan their trip how soon can I send out the invitations?

Im getting married in 2 years, and 95% of my guest list are out of state. We are planning on doing save the date emails to allow people time to plan and also try to gauge how many people are actually willing to make the trip. Then closer to the wedding we will do invitations.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Lisa!

As you have guests who need to book airline tickets, accommodation, etc. would you consider sending save the dates to them only? A cost-effective way of doing so if you don’t want to print anything is an electronic save the date via email.

I’ve linked two WeddingWire articles below with more information on when to send STDs and invitations depending on the type of wedding you’re having -
