Save the Dates and Wedding Website

J <3 B, on December 27, 2014 at 10:01 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I want to send out our Save the Dates now but I was wondering if I should not yet have the wedding info on our website. The info like the time and place. I have the link to the website on the Save the Dates. So should I wait until the formal invitations are sent out to add the time and place of the wedding to the website? Or is it ok to have it on the website before the invitations are sent?

I put the information on my website so that out of town guests can plan ahead. I don't have a ton coming from far away, but it helps them plan out where to stay, if needed, as well as what time to arrive!

I put our website on our save the dates. the website, at that point, had the venue name and location on it but as far as times went i just said, 'TBD' later, when we nailed down times and before i sent out invites, i'd updated the website.

i'd at least have the venue name and location so that people can plan travels if they need to. that's kind of the point of the save the date. to give everyone a heads up on that if they need to plan travels.

I had my website done before I even had STD sent out. I don't really see a point in waiting if your going to add the information anyways. If you have OOT guest I would definitely add it right away.

We're providing information on our website as well. My plan is for the website to be up and running before they go out.

I put all of the information that they needed on my website because I could see a guest looking at it when they get the save the date for the information and then going back to it later. If there is nothing on the website they will probably just be confused and not go back to it later to see if there is other information on it, they will just rely on the invitation.

I'm also putting there, the part I'm not putting up til invitations go out is the RSVP part. I will add that closer to mailing invitations.

My website was up and running before I sent out the STDs. That way any OOT guests would be able to plan accordingly.

My personal opinion is that you should put any information you have available on your wedding website. That is what it is for, and it cuts down on the number of random questions people will ask you.
