How is your search for a photographer coming along? Have you found any whose work you like so far?

I have a meeting soon with Brooke Limperis Photogtaphy. Her rates are posted on her WW page. I’ve looked at her website and Yelp as well and I like what I see.

Some prices seem insane for Photogtaphy but I do understand it’s a lot of work. I started out looking at the cheapest ones and I won’t name names...but when you advertise with pictures that look washed out in the sunset and you’ve chopped peoples heads off, I’m not even thinking about meeting with you.

One thing I noticed is you have to be sure what you are getting for the price. Not all photographers give you the rights to your photographs. You may have to pay more to get any prints. Some include a leather bound photo album in their $5k package. Whoopie-it’s not my style and I could probably get on pretty cheap anyway 🤣.

Have you checked out the WeddingWire vendor directory as part of you search?

There are tons of photographers on there, and it's possible to filter by price which may help you find someone within your budget - San Diego Wedding Photographers.

We met with Brooke yesterday and are still making our final decision. I don’t know all of the technical things about photographs and lights but she sure seemed to! Like she had shot at our venue when she was less experienced but learned from it. Something to do with the high ceilings and light bouncing blah blah blah 😂 But she showed photos with high ceilings and tall walls, and you could still see the color on the crown mounding instead of it being just shadows.

I hate posing for pics but there is one shot I really do want, preferably at sunset. She showed me three examples of the same couple in the same pose outdoors at night and how the lighting/flash can be used to really make the picture. I don’t need to understand the technical stuff as long as she knows how to get the job done. I’d also say she appears to be just pushy enough to where she will get us the photos we tell her ahead of time we want and not let us get sidetracked but not so pushy that she’s telling us what we”have” to do and when. Like your bridesmaids are going to put on these sunglasses and throw gang signs or you have to photograph your dress hanging from a tree because that’s what everyone else does. Ugh-not my thing. Our first impression was really good and her pricing seems lower than some of the others for what you get-which is lots of editing and full rights to lots of photos. And you should have a couple of shots the day after, some more sneak peeks by two weeks I think, and everything done by 8 weeks. She will also give you color and black and white.
