Sample Wedding Dress

Zoe, on June 25, 2019 at 11:58 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Has anyone bought a sample wedding dress? I got mine for 20% off since it was the sample and its overall in great shape but I'm getting nervous because the tulle on the bodice has a tiny hole in it. Has anyone else bought a sample that needed some some patchwork fixing?

I bought my dress off the floor at David's Bridal so I guess it was kind of a sample? But it was pretty much in perfect condition and I paid full price. Be careful with tears and consult a seamstress about fixing the dress.

The tulle with the hole in it is luckily surrounded by lace so I'm HOPING they can just replace that panel. I bought the dress in a different city than I am doing my fittings in, and my first fitting isn't until September so I'm just getting anxious.

I did! Mine had tons of holes in the back and makeup stains. My seamstress fixed it all 😊 it was kinda expensive to fix but I got my dress for only $600 it was originally 1500 brand new! So I ended spending less than getting it brand new and I still would have needed it hemmed!

Oh god that makes me feel so much better! Thank you! I found a very highly rated seamstress that only does wedding gowns so I think I need to just trust the professional Smiley smile

Yikes! I bought the floor sample, but it was in great condition (myself and 3 other people inspected it before I decided to buy it). it was 50% off. New it is $1600, and I paid $798.

Go to a seamstress and see if she can fix it. However, if it isn't noticable, it may be worth it to just let it go and wear it with the hole.

That's true. I don't want to run the risk of swapping in different tulle and having it not match. Thanks!

I got my dress from David's Bridal in a Sample sale for $180 (tax included).

It was originally $600+ Smiley smile

I'm going to have my first official alterations meeting soon, so I'm not fully sure about damage but I don't really see anything other than the clasps being a bit worn out.
