RSVPs - everyone's saying yes!

Kaitlyn, on April 14, 2015 at 5:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Hello! I've got 2 weeks until my RSVP deadline and I'm still missing a ton, which I expected. That's no big deal. HOWEVER... So far every RSVP I've gotten has been a "yes." Should I be concerned, or do the people who RSVP "no" just tend to send their card later?

*Let me clarify: If everyone shows up (expect some fam who I already knew couldn't come but invited anyway) we'll be fine. I'm just a rather introverted person and am thinking that we might end up with a bigger crowd than I hoped for!

You guessed right, most of the "No's" sent their cards in later, or not at all for my wedding.

Did you over-invite? That's really the only reason to be concerned. Be excited! And yes typically the last minute RSVPs are "no" or not at all and you have to hunt those down to find out if they are coming.

We didn't over-invite fortunately. I guess I'm not concerned so much as surprised. We've had some people RSVP yes who I was sure wouldn't be able to come (a high school teacher who has since moved to another stated for example).

I'm in the same boat! We have gotten back almost all yes's, but we are missing more than half of the RSVP cards (RSVP date May 1). I, too, am hoping the "no's" are coming later!

Same with us. We've got about 30 back and all are yes except for 1. We can accommodate everyone, but am hoping for a couple more "no" to come in.

Same here! We've had 77 yes's and 2 no's. I'm also nervous about having a huge crowd, but at the same time it means everyone loves you and wants to be there for you!

I'm only getting yes too! And it's out of town and a holiday weekend!!! I literally cry a bit inside every single day. We'd like about 30 people to not come. My future inlaws don't wanna pay the bar charge ($3) for more than 150 people and 196 were invited Smiley sad My Mom doesn't mind paying the difference but they hate me so they'll yell at me/my fiancé again and neither one of us can handle another blow up Smiley sad

I am noticing the declines are opting not the send back the RSVP card. They're calling or texting saying they can't make it, but I'd like if they just sent the frickin' card in.

We didn't over invite but I'm hoping to get rid of 2 tables so it wont be so tight under the tent. I would hate if everyone said yes. I think not allowing kids is deterring some people, though, so I should have some regrets.

I agree with everyone else.. No's usually send late if they send it at all. I would assume 80% you invites would show. I have to send about 20 invites out out of respect... I secretly don't want them to come.. Sorry that's mean. I'm lucky because my venue/ cater dosent go by RSPV he wants the number of people I invite total and if the food isn't brought to the floor I am not charged. I just lucked out. Anyways I haven't sent mine out but I am going to hand deliver about 50% of mine I'm super curious to see who says yes for mine.

@bridalfever invite me! I love chicken and I don't like filet (: and my no's are also taking longer to come in, which is super annoying.

I have 1 week left to respond and the current count is : 177 invited, 81 yes, 23 no and 73 no response. UGGH.

PS- Those "no" responses have just slowly started to trickle in.

@Chris: I've had a lot of people - including those saying "Yes" who are calling/texting their RSVP rather than sending in the pre-addressed, stamped card... In fact, my grandmother RSVPed by mentioning that she'll be attending in my birthday card.

Additionally, most of my family has already RSVPed yes. No one from my fiance's family has RSVPed either way!

I still needed over half of the RSVPs last week and now only need a few more. A ton of people RSVPd this week. The RSVP date was yesterday, btw lol
