I know there are a ton. This is my current feeling perfectly though. Due date was yesterday. I've heard from about 1/3 of the guests. I'm giving it to the end of the week to get any that were mailed "late". Then Monday, I'm starting down the list. I'm a bit saddened by some of the declines because I considered them good family friends, all of the family declined (mom, kids, grandma, etc). Oh well, they don't think highly enough of me to come so I'm glad they declined. Since I put postage, I think I'm going to word it like "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you received the invite for our upcoming wedding. The RSVP date has passed so please put your pre-stamped envelope/RSVP in the mail this week so we can get a correct count for our vendors." Crappy? Perhaps..but so is not responding to an invite. I'm like 30 days out at this point and just need to know how many are coming. Only two of the like 30 have RSVPed for my bridal shower this weekend. Sigh.

Just curious! Did any of you give the option for the online RSVP as well as a mailed back RSVP?

I have seen alot of these posts and it just seems so sucky! I wonder if I will have more luck adding a "RSVP Online" Card in our invites??

No, we're not doing a wedding website or anything online. We're doing "old school" I guess and the traditional route. I still think even with online, people just don't RSVP.

I gave in and messaged all that I could (all but 3) so hoping it gets the ball rolling. I hope most decline at this point haha

Our Spring Break was before I sent out my invites - but ugh, just so annoying. So, I sent them messages on FB so I can see who has seen/read my message and who is ignoring me. It's very much one of the frustrating parts of the wedding - everything else so far has been tolerable.

I have a nagging fear that no one will come to the wedding!

I know my siblings, parents and a few close friends wouldn't miss it for the world - and originally we were going to only invite VIPs and throw a small 30 person reception. But my dad kinda of convinced me to go bigger, and said it's important to him that his brothers and sisters and close family friends be invited to celebrate with us. So now I'm planning this wedding for around 100 people, and the thought keeps popping into my head "what if half of them don't come?!".

I think a safe bet is to plan that 80% will come, more like 90% if they are all local. I had one cousin/great aunt, something like that just message me "of course we're coming. We wouldn't miss it for the world.".. Cool. Please put it in the mail so I know.

I sent out 85 invites, so far about 35 have responded. I think I've had 5 declines so far. Kind of hoping for more. At most if people brought their kids, it'd be about 190 people, if they didn't bring their kids or they are out of towners, my guesstimate is more like 130ish. So far, I'm at 90 guests.

Mandy, I'm so sorry you are going thru this! I don't think I've already responded. Ha! Ha! I had about 20 guests who were flying in to surprise me, so they didn't RSVP, didn't answer my texts, calls..ect. All a long way from where I live. This was for my postponed wedding last fall. It never occurred to me that someone would try to surprise me. What about a place to sit, something to eat?...just like your posts! I was shocked. I just wonder if some of your people are doing that? I would NEVER try to surprise a bride or groom. Your wedding day will be beautiful and on that day, I wish you more joy than your heart can hold!

Honestly, I would've done the exact same thing. I don't have time to wait around for procrastinators who can't bother responding to an RSVP. Especially when they are given an early enough time frame. If they really want to attend the wedding, they'll find ways to make it work. If they don't come... sucks to suck, but life goes on. It's not something that I'll need to dread about when I could focus on my special day and my life going forward with my FH.

RSVPS are frustrating!!! And you gotta love when they try and include people that were not invited!
