I know there are a ton. This is my current feeling perfectly though. Due date was yesterday. I've heard from about 1/3 of the guests. I'm giving it to the end of the week to get any that were mailed "late". Then Monday, I'm starting down the list. I'm a bit saddened by some of the declines because I considered them good family friends, all of the family declined (mom, kids, grandma, etc). Oh well, they don't think highly enough of me to come so I'm glad they declined. Since I put postage, I think I'm going to word it like "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you received the invite for our upcoming wedding. The RSVP date has passed so please put your pre-stamped envelope/RSVP in the mail this week so we can get a correct count for our vendors." Crappy? Perhaps..but so is not responding to an invite. I'm like 30 days out at this point and just need to know how many are coming. Only two of the like 30 have RSVPed for my bridal shower this weekend. Sigh.

WE invited 160, we have 111 so far that have responded. We have had people tell us that they have until the 25th per the RSVP so I'm with you, in that people suck and I dont get that. I would rather be early than late..I hope you get your responses and hear from people! Good Luck

I'm sorry! It's definitely frustrating. At first I had a flood of RSVPs and it was so exciting, now it's a trickle, one or two every day or two... FH and I had converted the white board in our office into a seating chart/ who has RSVP'ed? drafting board, where we drafted some table groups and then circled the name of person in yellow after they have responded. We have another few weeks before the RSVP-by date, and I've been looking at that board wondering if we'll have a ton of names left without responses. Sigh. Probably..

I do so love the ecard thingy that you posted! i feel the same way and i am a bit irritated that they can't check a box and pop it in the mail. Not. That. Difficult. I only got about 1/2 of mine back and my FH and i don't really want to chase people down since we gave ample time to submit. We have to give a head count in 2 weeks and will only be doing what RSVP'd, food for vendors and like 5 extra. Otherwise, bring your own chair and sammich cuz there will be no extra. Sorry not sorry. I know i sound rude. but we have been engaged and planning for over a year, and sent everything out earlier than normal, so it isn't like it is a surprise that we are getting married. People suck.

This is the absolute worst!!! I hated when my RSVP date came and literally over half the guests were MIA... I activated my mom (she contacted family members on our side) and my FH (he contacted family members on his and also friends). I only had to call and deal with my friends. I individually texted them something like the message you were planning to send, and sent them a direct link to our wedding website for their convenience. My coordinator went on vacation 3 days after our RSVP date so I told everyone not to call her since she was out of state and the RSVP date had passed. I got answers from everyone pretty fast thankfully.

Oh, I'd like to - but my mom would be mad at me for making a big deal of it.. plus, I'll get the ones who aren't invited going "I didn't get my invite" and it just opens up a can of worms. So, I'll wait until Monday to get any last minute people then start reaching out.

😋 I'm a bit of an instigator. Plus it's pretty rude not to check a box and slip it in the mail.

How long did you leave between your rsvp by date and wedding date?

I haven't gotten into this can of worms yet, but just ordered my invitations and rsvp cards. I'm sending them out early and requiring about a two week earlier than usual rsvp date before the wedding since a lot of people it's out of state and I want to be sure I get a good count.

I definitely understand you frustration. That is part of the reason why we used Appy couple. I knew people would be bad about mailing the rsvp cards back. Plus it was really easy to send reminders through the app.

I would also add to your original message you want to send something to the effect of "if we don't hear from you by April 30th (or what ever date you chose) we will mark you as declined and be unable to accommodate you." It's a nice way of saying what you really want to say.

IDK why but some people just don't want to say no. It's not that hard. N-O. It spells no... #sarcasm

Ugh, people annoy me lol. We are having our RSVP's sent to our wedding email. Literally no effort to fill out a card, seal an envelope, drop it in a mailbox, lift a "mail in box" flag....they can respond while on the toilet!! I am so dreading this but hopeful it will go smooth. We still have a while before we have to deal with it but I dread it more every time I see a post about it lol

I sent them on March 20th with a due date of April 15th, so close to a month to respond.

I really wanted to put "If you don't RSVP, please bring a chair and a sammich to the reception" but my mom wasn't having it. HAHA

Yes! I thought about that about 10 minutes ago of if I don't hear from you I'm marking you as a no. It's really not that hard, but ugh. I don't mind declines, yeah, they suck, but at least I know not to expect you to show up..

I was warned a head of time, but it's still very frustrating. I've been told "people just don't rsvp anymore" and I don't get why. I've tried to make it as easy and traditional as I can..and still can't get answers.

I hear ya. I get that everything has gone digital now days but if you are invited to something as important and special as a wedding, RSVP when you are supposed to. It's really not that hard lol

Got married last year and the RSVP process made me dislike people. Some people I never saw them the same again lol. Ugh, it was like pulling teeth.

Yes, we sent out texts too. Calls to the older folks. It was very similar to yours, and we got back a response from everyone. I sent my hub a list of who he needed to contact, and I did my side.

Sorry you're going through this, but people are just careless.

PEOPLE SUCK. I literally hate people right now after our RSVP process (among other reasons) Our due date was this past Saturday 4/13 and we had like 80-some people we hadn't heard from. I did online RSVP via our website OR my email so THE NEXT DAY FH and I split it up and started messaging people since they literally had zero reason to have let us know by then. We're down to waiting to hear back from 5 people as of today. I am past the point of being nice. I had 3 people ask me if they could bring someone I did not list on the invitation, 1 person tell me they were bringing their kid after I told them the reception was adults only, and then another person who said "we aren't sure if we are coming or not" ---my response was...well you got an STD 6 months ago and an invitation 6 weeks ago you've had time to decide and I need to know so it's either a yes or a no"

Yes! I knew you were having issues as well! Only 5 isn't too bad! I lack about 40 right now. Ours were due on Monday, so I'm giving them a week in case they mailed them on Monday. I'll start reaching out to them next Monday and if I don't hear from them by Friday it's a no. I have time, I don't need numbers for catering, but I do need it for seating - there may be 100 show up, there may be 200 so ya know.. ya need numbers!

I had one friend who didnt RSVP. She felt silly that she forgot but also said that my invite got to her the same day a snow plow took out their mailbox so everything in it got soaked it sealed the RSVP envelope! Lol

We finally just counted the last 6 people as now because we hadn't heard from them.
