Do you put no children on the RSVP or just the details card, website and adult only reception on the invitation?

We just specified our request of having an adults only affair on our website on the RSVP page and on our FAQ page as well.

Typically people don’t explicitly say “no children” or “adults only” on the invitation itself. Putting “we have reserved ___ spots in your honor” is popular and fairly effective. You can explain that it’s an adult only reception on your wedding website. (No matter what you do someone will inevitable ask if they can bring their kids 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Here’s a good article on the do’s and dont’s of adult only weddings https://www.theknot.com/content/adults-only-wedding-etiquette-no-children

I am not having a website and along with addressing the invitations to specific people, I will be putting *Adults only affair* on the bottom of the invite along with "We have reserved __ seats in your honor" on the RSVP. Cant get any clearer then that lol.

We've already had an issue with someone thinking their 3 kids were invited even though the save the date was only addressed to the parents so we will most likely be putting a note on the invitation as well as our website. I'd rather be up front and have someone think I'm too blunt than having their children show up with them and not enough seating for all Smiley smile

I have a friend who put the note, "We love your little ones, but the wedding will be an adults only affair," at the top of the details card and I thought it was very effective. I wouldn't put it on the invitation if you're including enclosures.

We worded it "Since we are offering an open bar, we are requesting ages 12 and up" (since my sister it 12).

It's a doofy way to word it, but it works for us

Word it how you want, but I HATE when people imply it is for MY benefit, like I should enjoy a date night. My DH and I can have a date night whenever we want, we do not need you to orchestrate it, thank you very much. You are entitled to say adults only. I would not say the reason.

    ------------------------

I would add that if you invite family kids but not friend's kids, please only seat kids at tables with their relatives. Do NOT put them with friends, co-workers etc.

I have no helpful tips for you, sorry Smiley sad I do see quite a lot of couples not inviting children and I'm just wondering what some of the reasonings are for this? I'm not being rude, just curious is all. I totally get it if there's something dangerous like a pool, and the obvious drinking situation. FH and I were looking at possibly renting out a local bar because we loooove to hang out there and they have awesome food, but then kids couldn't come, so we changed plans. To each their own though, honestly! I'm just inquiring. No judgement. (I feel like I have to cover my butt before I get a lot of backlash for this Smiley smile)

I put Adult only event on the details card and website. Also, filled in the reserved __ seats in your honor for them.

My group of friends is generally ecstatic when the event is no kids. They get a chance to have fun and cut loose with friends and family and not have to worry about chasing around kids! We are having a no kids wedding primarily because of this, they then don't feel guilty about not wanting to bring their kids Smiley xd But every group is different.

I put it on my invitation-I said that it was an adult only reception and that was the only place that I had it listed
