rsvp help - Forgot to add We have reserved # seat in your honor.

Helena , on February 19, 2018 at 2:36 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Help everyone,

I dint send the RSVP cards yet and my card I put 2 lines to add the guest name.

____________________ & ______________________

However I forgot to add We have reserved # seat in your honor.

I dont know if I should write it down on the card, make a stamp or just add the person name.

I dont want they to assume the second line is to add plus one name.

How about if the person is going by himself what do I write in the second line?

Why did you separate the lines like that if everyone invited doesn’t include a second person? I’ve never seen that done on an RSVP. I don’t know what you can do other than hope they don’t include a plus one (only address the invite to those invited) or order new RSVP cards.

If your reserving seats either get a stamp made or fill it in by hand.

I would say that "reserving x seats in your honor" isn't normally needed (I've never actually seen it on an invite, only on WW). However, you kinda shot yourself in the foot with the two lines. That's just confusing and definitely makes it seem like everyone gets a plus one. Do you have time to order new RSVP cards with just one line?

I forgot to add it but added a stamp sticker. Sometime if you don't add it people RSVP for more than enough seats.

We didn't do the "reserving X seats in your honor thing". But I do agree it might confuse some people and make them think they have a plus one.

Can you white out the second line on some of the responses that don't get a plus one?

    Thanks everyone.

I really don't want to spend more money with this RSVP.

I left the space so I could add the guest name as Mr. and Mrs, but I dint think about the single guests.

I think I will make a stamp and will add it on the card , but I am not sure if I should add it on the top or in the blank line.

Or maybe I will add a sticker in the middle LOL maybe a Heart LOL

Its even funny. What a mess.

Honestly, I never heard of people doing this or received an invite with that language on the RSVP card before I joined WW. I did not put anything like that on the RSVPs, and I didn't have a single guest trying to RSVP for people not named on the envelope.

But I agree with @LB that the 2 lines might be a bit confusing.

You could make it a song suggestion line, I've seen that a lot. Would be fun and make it not a mistake at all. We have to give the caterer everyone's order so if you have to do that, or out dietary needs like vegetarian or allergic to. Not the biggest mistake and easy to fix so don't let it get to you Smiley smile

Where can I get stamp stickers from? Do you have an example?
