Well. I invited 157. I gave a guess at 130 being yes, with low of 120. I’m sad to say I’ve paid 70% of catering, and my rsvps didn’t even come in to 80. I’m disappointed in my friends. And my family. And my fiancé’s family. STD went out in January. I had to bug the last 50 people to get an rsvp from...

And my fiancé’s family. STD went out in January. I had to bug the last 50 people to get an rsvp from them at all. I just feel let down and that no one cares. It’s specificslly on a date where people we work with and our friends are off work.

Antone else had had this happen and have some good things to say? Thanks community of brides and grooms. ♥️

I am so sorry about the $$ lost on catering- I know we are planning for a lot of people and it would be hard to have a third of that with our plans. With that being said- I am actually a little jealous.. I've always wanted a smaller (under 100) wedding but I have so many people I feel obligated to invite. I think at best a bride and groom can give quality time to 50 guests so I'm sure that the experience will be much more special with the people that do come! Call the caterer anyways and beg them to lower the cost? But most of all just really enjoy the people that are coming Smiley smile

I am so sorry but don't forget that you still have plenty of guests that are going to be there for you so, as hard it is, try and focus on who did say yes instead of who didn't.

As for the catering company..that's really sucky too! Maybe you can talk to them and try and work out a deal with them so you don't have to overpay so much. It's not your fault that people aren't coming. No one can predict that.

I am also having a Monday wedding but mine is on Labor Day. I am hoping for a good turn out but sort of expect that we will get a lot of rsvp declines. I am just going to embrace those that come and be understanding of those who cannot. Most of my guests will be traveling as I just moved. Hang in there and remember that whatever the turn out YOU WILL have an amazing day.

I get married and the end of the month and I have 101 people (includes vendors & everyone) out of 189 people invited that have rsvp'd yes. I understand you're disappointed, but just have a blast with the people that are coming. That's what I plan to do.

The BIG thing is even if they didn't RSVP don't mean they won't show up. Unfortunately in today's times not many people get the drift of RSVP'ing. We got MOST of our RSVP's by seeing people and them saying "oh hey we will be there put us down for _ people" So I get your pain. We invited 200 ppl we told caterer to prepare for 150 and only 130 RSVP'd. But, honestly I know that there is gonna be people who didn't do the noble thing as to RSVP that do show up.

Don't sweat it. It will be okay.
