rsvp date for an international wedding?

Alexandria, on August 28, 2018 at 11:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 3
My wedding is in Italy and I have family coming from the U.S. and Mexico. My wedding is January 4, 2019.

When should I set my RSVP date? I'm guessing most people will have bought their tickets by November but I still want to have a deadline for people to let me know for sure.

I would have your RSVP set a month and a half before your wedding date.

We're also getting married in Italy. Our wedding is in June 2019, we're sending out save the dates in September/October, sending invitations in February and having the RSVP date set for mid- to late April (about two months before the wedding). This is what we were advised by a few friends who got married abroad. We're also including a note on our save the dates that reads "Early confirmation of attendance is appreciated."

I think your guests understand that sending out a little earlier benefits both you and your guests. Like you said, most people probably bought their tickets by that time.

I actually did order my RSVP cards with a response date of Oct 26 but I've been second guessing everything so I would have been willing to order new ones if the date should be later. Thanks for the input!
