RSVP Cards

Betsy, on March 8, 2011 at 3:37 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I am getting my invitations assembled soon and started thinking about where I want people to mail the RSVP cards... I know traditionally it would go to the brides parents house if they are "hosting". Right now me and FH are living in between my parents house and his parents till we get our own place. Most of the time we are at his house.... I am wondering where I should have the RSVP's addressed to and also would it be addressed to our first names since we have different last? Or my parents names? There really isn't anyone in particular hosting the wedding, we are all sort of helping out equally, maybe my parents a little more. Our invitation wording says "Together with their parents...."

It is kind of a dumb question but I just can't think of the best thing, and I always sweat the small stuff.... lol thanks girls!

    A lot of the RSVPs I do are addressed to the bride as Ms. Bride's Name to their most recent address. So you can put your name on it with your parents' address, or your apartment, dorm room, whatever your preference.

    My parents aren't paying for it and if i addressed it to there place i would probably never get the response lol

    Traditionally a hand written reply was sent to the sender at the return address listed on the envelope (reply cards are not really tradtional at all.) I would have the replies sent to whomever will really be coordinating this information , as in getting counts to the caterer, sending out B list invitations after regrets replies come in.

    You could use a parents address.... have either your name or both your 1st names? Pick the house that you are at more... or the one that has the more "responsible" people living in it that will collect the RSVP's

    My RSVPs are coming to my name at my parents' address because our lease is up a month before the wedding and depending on if I get a teaching job for the fall, we could be moving.

    It's been many years, but as memory serves, even though my parents hosted wedding #1, the RSVP's came addressed to me at my parent's addie.

    This time around, despite my FH and I living together, they will also be addressed to me.

    Most of my brides use one of the following;

    BRIDES LAST NAME (if her family pays)

    GROOMS LAST NAME (if his does)

    BRIDES FULL NAME (if couple pays)

    BRIDE AND GROOMS FULL NAMES (if couple pays)

    OR NAME OF PERSON IN CHARGE OF RSVPS
