ROCK n ROLL BRIDES!!!??

Harleybeachbride, on December 10, 2016 at 4:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 48

Hey all, I'm hoping for some old time rock n roll song inspo from brides who used (or will use) classic rock tunes for all the different parts of your wedding day (your walking song, processional, recessional, grand E, cake cutting, first dance....or some of them perhaps?) I love old 60s & 70's tunes and while fiance does too, he also loves 80s hair bands as he was a drummer back in the day!) Please share songs you used from these genre's at your wedding, or plan to.....rock on!! LOL

My dad and I considered using the song "When You Need Me" by Bruce Springsteen for our father daughter dance. He ended up not being able to keep that beat as well, but it was my favorite song choice.

Still pretty far out from my wedding, so FH and I haven't settled on too many song choices yet, but we know that our recessional is going to be Joey Ramones version of What a Wonderful World. FH and I are huge rock/punk fans. We figured that was a great song that reflected us, but wouldn't cause our grandmothers to complain Smiley winking Hopefully some other posters have some songs to share!

We used Rob zombie more human than human as our recessional song. Was purely instrumental, I had our musicians learn it.

One of my favorite bands are the Eagles, so I'm trying to figure out where one of the songs will fit in.

@jo rocka....that's awesome! The one song we may go with for first dance is Aerosmiths Don't Want to Miss a Thing and possibly Def Leopards Pour Some Sugar On Me, for the cake-cutting but that's all I got so far! Contemplating Ozzys Crazy Train for grand E??? LOL

I think we are going to use all my love by Led Zeppelin as our first dance. My fiancé is a big classic rock, metal fan so we are also trying to incorporate the type of music throughout.

My fiance loves Metallica, and he keeps mentioning wanting to find a way to use "Nothing Else Matters". As a surprise to him I'm having the musician for the reception (an amazing bass guitar player and singer) learn it.

Aw! My husband and I are obsessed with Depeche Mode so our first dance was Home......there was a lot of 80s played all throughout the reception, too (I LOVE Journey, Prince, Eddie Money, etc hahaha) the bridal party walked into the reception to Rock The Casbah by The Clash, too. We walked into the reception and cut the cake to Head On by Jesus and Mary Chain....a badass song but also the song that was playing at the bar the day my husband asked me to be his girlfriend to (cheesy, yes.) Rock on, lady!

We are using lots of Beatle's music. In fact, that is what we are playing for dinner. My FH is a huge fan and plays acoustic sets in small venues.

The DJ we chose was playing Bowie when we went to meet him - that sold me! I want Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" playing as we cut the cake. We're both stuck (musically) in an era we didn't live in but I love it and we're totally making 60s/70s/80s music a big part of our day.

My DH walked down the aisle to Slayer's "South of Heaven". We recessed to Queen's "You're my Best Friend". Had a band doing everything from Zeppelin to Ozzy at the reception. Definitely no Pachelbel's Canon here.
