Rings on the Wedding Day

FutureMrsC18, on December 20, 2017 at 11:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 49

Okay ladies, what are all of you doing with your engagement ring for the wedding ceremony?

I've heard of some locking it up and not wearing it at all that day, and I've also heard of some moving it to their right hand for the ceremony.

Secondary question- Are any of you just wearing your band after your wedding day?

I left mine on my right hand during the ceremony and moved it over right after! Some days I wear only my band, but not typically.

I wore it on my pinky. Right after we kissed, as my MOH was handing me my flowers, I put it on my ring finger over my band. I wear both rings daily now.

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand, then after the ceremony I switched back over to my left hand placed above my band. My band has a curve and is really thin, so I wear both rings.

I plan on wearing it as normal (unless I get them soldered together beforehand).

Then, I'll just switch them around afterwards.

I will be wearing all of my rings together. I have two bands for each side of my engagement ring and they're weirdly shaped due to the design of my e-ring, so on their own probably wont be an option for me.

I forgot I was wearing my engagement ring until half way down the aisle. I just pulled it off and handed it to my sister with my bouquet. She wore it until I came back down the aisle.

I wore mine on my right hand and then after the ceremony moved it to my left with my wedding ring. I wear both rings daily.

I wore my e-ring all day on my left hand, like normal. DH added my band to the outside and during cocktail hour I switched them around so the band was on the inside.

I ordinarily wear both rings, but there have been times where I've chosen to just wear my band. It just depends what I'm doing or where I'm going.

I’m going to wear it like normal and have FH place it on top, switch the order after the ceremony.

I would worry about losing my ring if I handed it to someone else or put it on another hand, since all my fingers seem to be different sizes Smiley laugh

I left my engagement ring on my left hand. When we sat down for the rest of the mass after the exchanging of rings, I just switched them around so that the wedding band is closest to the heart.

I'm still wearing both e-ring and wedding band.

I wore it on my left hand as I did not want to take a chance that I would fumble around with it. I am kinda clutzy. I switched them later so wedding is on first.

I will likely wear mine on my right hand during the ceremony and then add it to my wedding band after.

It really doesn't matter what you do. You can not wear it, you can wear it on your right hand, you can keep it on the left hand and then just switch the order of the rings later... up to you.

I wore mine on my right hand. I usually wear both rings but sometimes just wear my wedding band. Depends on my mood or where I'm going.

I plan on moving it to my right hand during the ceremony and then moving it back shortly after, on top of my band. I plan on wearing both of them daily after that.

I'm so glad someone else had this question. For those if you who moved it to your right hand, did it fit okay? I think my fingers are different sizes.

Planning to wear it as normal. It's too big for my left pinky and to small from my right ring finger. I'll wear as normal and then switch before cocktail hour.

We're going to be handing ours to one of the clergy (probably my dad) and will be wearing them all back down the aisle. I have three rings- plain band, diamond band and e-ring so I'll probably wear some combination of them but likely not all three all the time after we're married.

My FH spent a lot of money on my engagement ring and it's gorgeous! Why wouldn't I wear it after my wedding day?

Going to wear my engagement ring on my right hand during the ceremony and will switch it back as soon as it's over.

I will either give my ring to mom to hold until after the ceremony (it doesn't fit on my right hand) or just wear it and switch the rings around after the ceremony.
