So we just picked out wedding bands yesterday! Mine is going to be a custom band so it will fit flush against my ring. The lady at the jeweler mentioned I could solder the rings together. I had never heard of this before. Is there a benefit to this and if I did this is it better to do before or...

I plan on soldered, but I will probably wait until after the wedding.

I had never thought about this. I always have trouble with mine spinning, annoys me sometimes! If it bothers you after wearing both, I would go ahead and do it.

Both of my rings are platinum, so they don't damage easily. I had the sizing balls put on the inside of the shank of the e-ring so it wouldn't spin as much.

I would love for my e-ring not to spin around constantly, but it would make me sad to solder them because I have a little ruby chip on each side (top/bottom?) where the wedding band would go. Also, I like the option of wearing the band separately in theory. Both bands are (platinum and) only 2mm though so not sure how much it'd really help?

I am tempted to but I feel like there might be times were I'd just like to wear my band. So I probably wont.

I'm not soldering mine. I like that I'll have the option of wearing just my band if we go on vacation or something, and I don't want to risk my much more expensive e ring.

I'm going to but only because I've got the two bands that are already joined, and I can't wear my band separately as it is.

My first was soldered, but only after about a decade of wear caused damage. So I will be soldering these rings this time right away.

There might be occasions when you would rather just wear your wedding band without your engagement ring (which is usually a little bigger with a stone). I know of one woman who had planned to solder her rings, then decided it was nice to sometimes just wear her band.
