Ring ceremony with engagement ring and wedding band

ZimWifey, on September 10, 2017 at 1:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

Hey Ladies ( and men with engagement rings, if you're out there). So I always thought I'd be wearing my engagement ring down the aisle and then slipping my wedding band on when we exchange rings. However it seems that many people wear no ring down the aisle and then place on the wedding band and e-ring during the ring ceremony. Is there a customary way this is done?

Personally, when we got engaged we did not have very much money. He got me a nice ring from Walmart & we have now saved for us to be able to get nice rings from Kays. I got a whole set, so I will not be wearing a ring down the aisle as I will be getting a whole new set. I think from what I've noticed the bride goes without a ring anyways & gets the whole set together ay the alter

I plan to wear my E-ring on my right hand and move it back after the ring ceremony.

I kept the engagement ring j the left hand. He placed the wedding band on still. After the ceremony, but before pictures I quickly placed the band under the engagement ring. It was not a big deal

Never put that much thought into it, but I'll probably end up doing something like @arh5249. My engagement ring feels weird on my right hand.

Most people don't wear a ring because it's soldered together. I'm planning on wearing mine and FH puts the band on. Also I don't want someone losing my engagement ring (ring bearer)

I wore my engagement ring on my right hand and moved it back after the ceremony. There is no right/wrong way of doing this.

I think you do what you want, honestly. It's not even something to stress about.

I'm not going to wear anything down aisle put it all on during the ceremony because I was told the band is first then the ring. Don't want that hassle with the e ring already on so just not gonna wear anything

I just wore my engagement ring as I always do, he put the wedding ring on over the top of it, and I swapped the order after the ceremony. There is no right or wrong, but this way seemed the simplest to me.

I'm trying to remember what I did haha. I think I kept it on my left hand and just rearranged them after the ceremony. It's such a small detail. Don't stress haha.

Most folks I'm familiar with switched their e ring to the right hand just for the ceremony. I've even seen that "task" listed on several wedding checklists for the day of the wedding.

Mine will be soldered before hand so I will not be wearing any down and both put on during the ceremony.
