Reusing wedding ring

Brittany, on June 14, 2020 at 1:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
My boyfriend and I were discussing our future about marriage and I have been married before. I have my wedding ring from previous marriage and I had mentioned to my Bf that I would like to wear it again if he would be okay with it.
Last marriage was 2 years, I paid for my own ring and I have absolutely no emotional drawback/connection to it. Was thinking about maybe changing the stone or adding a 4th band to it? I’ve been through this before and honestly it would make me happy if I was able to wear my beautiful Leo again that I worked so hard to pay for! It’s a shame it’s in a box in my safe when it could be potentially on my finger at some point.
Thoughts?

I think if you change the stone or do something to change it, it would be good

As long as you are both okay with it, it shouldn't be a problem. Perhaps you can add a small something to it.

Maybe a small suggestion I would make would be to check out tigergems.com if money is your concern. Do you think it may be a little awkward if someone asks you about the ring or why you’re still wearing your ring from your first husband’s marriage? I mean it’s technically your ring so you can do however you wish, but I personally just can’t imagine using the same old ring someone else gave you for your new marriage. Do you think you may look at the ring when you wear it and think about your previous marriage at all?

I paid for my own ring and I have absolutely No connection to my ex when I look at it. Money isn’t the issue at all, I just love it so much and customized myself to have the “ring of my dreams” that I don’t think I would be satisfied with anything else. Marriage was 2 years but I only wore it for about a year because I was diagnosed with cancer back in fall of ‘18 and the steroids blew my fingers up. Got divorced then too.

Well then yeah, I mean he technically didn’t even get you the ring so in that case I would say go for it.

He said he’s not “that kind of guy” to get upset over something like that or let it bother him. I told him I could change it a little if he wanted me too but he’s not too concerned, he just wants me happy lol

I don't see anything wrong with wearing the ring if that's what makes you happy!

It’s definitely not for me, but if neither of you mind, I’m not sure why our opinion matters.

I would never wear a ring that I got to marry one person to wear married to someone else.

Since you don’t connect it emotionally to your first marriage and you fiancé is fine with it I would go for it. Even more so because you are proud of the ring and your own hard work that was put towards it. I think mixing it up to make a dream sounds like a good idea!

I wouldn’t wear it either if my last marriage wasn’t thrown around like it didn’t matter. Lol I didn’t wear it half the time anyways. Just spent a lot of money on it. I don’t want it going to waste!

I would probably exchange it before I would wear a ring that I wore during my prior marriage. Even if you barely wore it, you bought it as your wedding in band for another man.

I say if money isn't an issue, buy a new ring. I find man tend to his their true feelings and emotions but they have pride and egos. Maybe today he feels it's no big deal but makes it an issue in a year.
