Reusing items with original wedding date? Tacky

Shelby, on March 23, 2020 at 11:47 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12
My fiancé and I were set to get married on 4/25/2020 but due to current events have rescheduled for September 13,2020. We had already ordered our wedding favors (can cozies) and our guestbook with our original wedding date on them. I really do not want them to go to waste and we did spend a decent amount of money on them. Do you think it will be tacky to still use them for our new day?

Thanks Melle! I am hoping we can find the humor in it at some point. Right now it is a sensitive subject but I'm hoping it will be a story to share.

I think if anything it will be a reminder for you and your guests what you and your fiance went through.

I don't think it would be tacky, as Jennifer said, it will be a reminder for your guests what you had to go through! If it bothers you and your future spouse, maybe contact the company and see if they are willing to replace them or give you a discount to reorder.

Given the circumstances i don’t think so. I would reuse them to save on cost and i don’t think guests will care.

First I'm really sorry that you had to move your date; and nope not at all. USE THEM!!! People know whats's going on and I dare anyone say it's tacky at a time like this. You put so much time and energy to planning your day, I say use all of it. It'll be something funny for the memory books! Stay safe!

I'd totally be using them if I were in your shoes. No one will look down on that after what you've had to go through, and they'll probably just smile and laugh along with you. Maybe with a Cricut or an etsy vendor's help you could add something to the coozies, if you really wanted to, but I think you're totally fine if you just go with what you have. I'm so sorry you have to reschedule but it's awesome that you're already looking ahead and making the best of things Smiley heart

Agree with all the PPs. I would definitely use them and as a bride or guest I wouldn't find that tacky. Everyone will completely understand.

I totally agree with PP's, it's not remotely tacky. I would do the same!

I wouldn't worry too much about them. I would still use them.
