Rescheduled Wedding and now prolonged terror

Alycia, on April 1, 2020 at 12:03 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
I planned for over a year for my April wedding. I poured my heart and soul in every detail from the decor to the favors everything was organized and ready to go.

Then this happens I can't even say its name but you know.
After debating and basically being back into a corner, we postponed our wedding to September 26,2020. I didn't want to do and I'm not happy about it. The sadness and frustration are starting to give way to a new terror. If we have to do this again....
I can't even think about it but you know the news doesnt help, the projections and the predictions, the models the curves its all never bad news. I'm growing more afraid everyday we will have to do this again, postpone a second time.

Take a deep breathe. Your wedding regardless of when it is, will be beautiful!!! You will be beautiful. Depending on your location (from a healthcare standpoint) most of the US will peak in the next two months. With testing and research breakthroughs on such a quick pace right now (because of how hot this topic is) I have every hope that this will be manageable by late summer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sanity over the next few months (my wedding is November 2020 - I haven't even been able to get required vendors because we have to taste test in person lol).

But always remember whatever happens you get to marry the man of your dreams! Sending you all my good vibes!!!

My wedding is in September. I am very confident everything will at least be back to semi normal by then. You will have a beautiful wedding. The peak for us is supposed to happen towards the end of April. Right now things do look bad, but more people are being tested too. The curve will flatten and things will become more manageable by the summer.

It will be okay! Trust me! Even if you have to postpone again Smiley smile
Just know that any well planned wedding day doesn’t always go according to plan either, c’est la vie!

Take a deep breath Smiley smile

I am a nurse so I totally understand hearing about it 24/7. It is all I hear about at work, from family, the tons of posts on here, and on the news. Try to find something to distract you from it whether it is working out, watching other shows on tv, reading, going for a walk, etc.

Based upon statistics, things should be fine in the next few months. My wedding is October 3, 2020 and I do not forsee us needing to postpone.

    Hi Alycia,!

    I can image
your sadness and FRUSTRATION... ( Our wedding is 10-24-2020) Just know you are
not in this by yourself. Easier said than done. It is painful to know that all
the hard work and detail behind the planning a wedding is being ripped so
quickly away. Know there is a light at the end of all this. You will have your soulmate
as your strength and ultimately your husband. Try to be encouraging and
hopeful. He is probably stressed as well. We are here to encourage and uplift
one another during this time. The new slogan," We are ALL in this
together". Try to be POSITIVE! Your October wedding will be MAGNIFICENT!
And if by chance if does have to be postponed for a second time keep in mind it
is the BEST for the safety for you both, your friends and family.

    Keep the FAITH!!!!

Yes child, the fear is real. This could very well happen again and I wonder if the bridal industry would be turned upside down. Like think about it, can you imagine going through this again but now with 2021 brides..... It would be a madhouse!!!!! I know there are way more important things to think about but this is a special day for most little girls who have dreamed of having the perfect wedding day. Girl, keep the faith and try to stay positive. Trust and believe you are NOT ALONE! Praying your new wedding date is magical, perfect, positive, joyus, lovely and everything you want it to be!
