Reschedule Date Nearing

Gretchen, on June 24, 2020 at 12:35 AM Posted in Planning 1 6
Hi, friends! I had a small ceremony on our original at my parents house and rescheduled our big day! It is at the end of August so we were hoping things would be better. However, the town that our venue is in is STILL (at least) doubling in cases of COVID each week... almost no one is coming... Our venue originally told us we could move our date (and have three options), but we would be getting no money back. Has anyone rescheduled their second date? Are you going through with your wedding without your guests? Are you wearing masks/social distancing? Give me all the info! We feel lost and at a stand still!
TYIA!💖

Rescheduled the big affair. Having a smaller one on our date. At the smaller wedding there are only 5 of us - us and our 3 kids. We're following all guidelines. I'm getting a white mask for me. The guys have black ones. Yes, on social distancing. No bridal party or reception. Cupcakes or cake and a toast. Maybe a first dance. That's it. Smiley smile

Hi Gretchen! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this - thinking about postponing twice is a whole new level of stress! You're definitely not the only one going through this though! ❤️

Yes, we also got married on our original date of 6/5/20. We rescheduled our big wedding to 8/28/20. It's nearing the new date, and I'm starting to wonder if it will need to be rescheduled again. My guest count has lowered substantially. My dad is nervous about coming. My concern is I just wanted to get it done, and be able to wear my dress. Not sure what we will do. We also cannot get any money back from our venue. They will only let us reschedule.

Sounds lovely and just like we did!! So since you rescheduled your big day, do you plan to do that when things go back to normal? If so, will you do it as a vow renewal..? That’s kind of what we are thinking!!
