When is everyone requesting time off from work for your wedding, honeymoon, or both? I will be taking off 8 business days and am wondering when is the best time to put in my request. I was thinking February is enough time to get ahead of everyone else planning their summer vacations. My job is pretty flexible as long as I let them know.
Thanks!

I put my request the Monday after I booked my venue. I took a week off before the wedding and a week after.

Totally depends on your job/boss/rules. I just asked off for a week in January last week.

I’m going to put it in closer to our end of the year in June. We start a new fiscal year in July. I know that’s weird but that’s how my company is. My boss knows that I’m getting married in October.

My job does our vacation by the calendar year as well so I can't formally put in the request until the new year as well. My bosses know I'm getting married and taking a honeymoon so it won't be a shock. I just wasn't sure how soon is too soon.
Your wedding is coming soon! How exciting!
Do you and your fiance know where you'd like to go for your honeymoon?

Thank you! My job is pretty laid back and I never get denied a day off request. Just want to make sure my dates are put out there before every else lol

Thank you! My boss won't even remember this early lol. I'd like to at least put it on our internal, shared calendar ahead of everyone else.

Yeah mine won’t either haha, but when it gets closer and I bring it up again then he’ll likely remember having discussed before. Mines in the internal shared calendar too haha

Hmm.. it depends on your job and their time off policy. My job only requires a week's notice for any and all time off requests. I am putting in to have the day before and day of (obviously lol) next week to give a 3 month notice, but I'm not putting in for our honeymoon until probably April since we are waiting to have ours. And since our company is only open Mon-Sat, I won't have to request the day after.

I'm trying to take a week off in May, but working in news, that's a "no no".

I'm still hopeful because I'd like a day off for rehearsal/getting all of my stuff together and a week off for a small honeymoon and getting name change paperwork done that week.

I am taking off 8 total work days in January for my wedding. I put in my request in August because January is a little slower for us and not many people request off that time of year. If I was requesting off for a summer wedding I'd do it up to a year in advance because everyone in my office takes their vacations around the same time.

I put mine in last week, our wedding is in March and I still feel like I could've did it sooner to be on the safe side

As soon as you've confirmed dates ask for time off. I started a new job a month and a half before my wedding and we still hadn't booked the honeymoon but it was granted as soon as I let them know.
