We hosted dinner at a local restaurant (we’ve known the owner for over a decade so he gave us a really great deal as well) and invited our bridal party plus their SOs, immediate family, and out of town relatives. It ended up being I believe 23 people who attended (we invited around 35 but some of those were unable to make the wedding or the dinner). Honestly was one of my favorite parts of the weekend, it was great to be able to have that extra time with our nearest and dearest, and it was also the first time our families met each other.

Thank you so much for sharing! We are planning on having ours at a restaurant as well or hosting at our home. Then at the end of the night I'll leave with the girls and go to my moms house down the road and the guys will spend the night with him!

My FMIL will be hosting at a restaurant we selected.. We plan on inviting; bridal party, SO, and immediate family. Due to most of our wedding guests are out of town we will not be inviting them. But thinking of trying to meet up after for drinks.

We are hosting it at a local brewery in their upstairs rental space. For dinner, we are using Mission BBQ, and I’m very excited for it! In total, we will spend roughly $1200 for 40 people.

Very! Our dinner will be $12.69/person, buffet style, and the venue rental was $300 for three hours. We plan to do drink tickets to buy each person 2 drinks and anything else they can pay for on their own. We have some people who drink too much and we don’t want them hungover the next day, and we also have non-drinkers. Our venue suggested we do drink tickets, so that’s how we are saving some coats ☺️

This is super smart! I have a friend who had a full open bar for her rehearsal dinner and like 25% of her guests showed up to her ceremony late and hungover the next day. Smiley sad

O no! I would not be happy with that happening!

We like our drinks as much as the next couple, but we aren’t trying to encourage it when they’ll have an open bar the next night.

Yup! We actually took it a step further and hosted our the Thursday before our Saturday wedding in order to avoid this. We also only served beer and wine (since it was a brewery that didn’t serve liquor). My husband was like “they can get wasted at the open bar at our wedding because they won’t be our problem to take care of in the morning!” Lol

I like it! We have most our wedding party coming from out of the area so we can’t get around the Friday dinner. We also will only have beer and wine options with lemonade for the non-drinkers and nieces.

We reserved a room at a local Italian restaurant 15 minutes from our venue. In-laws are covering it so we have a cash bar setup to control the drinkers if they want an alcoholic beverage. Non-alcoholic drinks are apart of our meal package so everyone will have something to sip.

You’re welcome! If you have a Mission BBQ by you, definitely do a tasting with them! We got so much food we had to take it home and it lasted several meals. Plus, it was so tasty. We were sold on their company’s mission and their food quality.
