Rehearsal two days before wedding.

Our planner is not available the Fri before a Sat wedding. He recommended doing it the Thursday before. That means the rehearsal dinner would be Thursday as well. Am I overthinking it or is that odd? I'm worried that we are putting extra expense on out of town members of thr bridal party who would need to spend an extra night in town. One may not be able to make it early which shouldn't be a big deal, we could fill him in but I would hate for him to miss the rehearsal dinner. Thoughts?

    I do not think that is odd. If that is when they are available that is ok. I think it would be a lot but you could do the rehearsal Thursday and dinner Friday if everything is close to where everyone is.

    Our venue schedules Saturday wedding rehearsals on Thursdays since they have weddings on Fridays. Our plan is to have a small rehearsal dinner with just our wedding party/parents since it’s the Thursday before. However, our wedding is fairly local, so it’s not too much to ask of our wedding party.

    My bff has that. I don’t think it’s super odd if we were all local Smiley sad unfortunately 4/5 of her bridal party And some of the groomsmen have to fly in from out of state so it is actually really inconvenient because it means I’m missing work on Thursday and Friday for a Saturday wedding. It is what it is.
    But I don’t think it’s odd if it’s more of a local wedding though!

    Our rehearsal dinner was the Thursday before our Saturday wedding and I don’t think it was weird at all. I wouldn’t expect out of town bridal party to take an extra day off or pay for an extra night of accommodations though, I would just do it without them.

    It’s not odd. But the extra day might not work for everyone. However, the rehearsal can still happen and on wedding day your planner should update each person who was absent.

    I don't think it's odd. We are kind of expecting it because Friday has also become a popular wedding day, and our venue probably won't be available for a Friday rehearsal either. People will still remember what to do by Saturday Smiley smile

    I agree that this is fine if everybody is local. I wouldn't expect the out of town members of the wedding party to arrive on Thursday though, just for a rehearsal. I'd do the rehearsal on Thursday and whoever is local will be there, and the rehearsal dinner on Friday so that your whole wedding party can be there for that.

    Our rehearsal is on Thursday aswell, we figured the out of town guests that couldn’t make we could give them an update or you could always have someone record the rehearsal for the people that have missed it! I actually love the idea of having it Thursday because everyone can relax Friday. My bridesmaids and I are doing a spa day Friday while the groomsmen golf 😊

    Yes we are having our rehearsal dinner Thursday just to get it out of the way. Our plan for Friday is to just relax Smiley smile You could always do a little brunch on Friday with the few people that missed out Thursday.
