Rehearsal Dinner, Who to invite and who can be left out.....

According to that article only 25 people! Thank God, we can do it for under 2 grand.

We are having around 32 people at our rehearsal dinner and rehearsal, but our wedding is going to be between 200 to 250 guests so I don't think that is bad at all.

We're having 12 - us, our four parents, the officiant and his wife, and the wedding party (four, two are single and not bringing a date to the ceremony, and two are married to each other).

We are having a semi-destination wedding weekend....All wedding guests/party/family are coming from 2-3 hour drive away. Our rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner are at the same venue as wedding and reception and the WP and family are staying on property for the weekend. It is all part of the "weekend events" held at the venue. Essentially, if we "HAD" to invite all of the out of towners, that would be like having a second wedding reception! Not to mention that the wedding site reveal will be over before the big day. So...we also cannot host something at the hotel, where guests will stay, as we will be at our venue with our wedding party and Immediate family. So what is appropriate to do?
