Rehearsal Dinner - Need to Have or Nice to Have?

Need to have if you're having a rehearsal.

Need to have! I'm asking my friends and family to travel, get a hotel room 2 nights in a row, it's definitely necessary to feed them

Need to have! Everyone who is invited to the rehearsal is more than likely taking time off of work (depending on the day/time of the rehearsal). It's nice to be able to provide food for them.

Need if you're having a rehearsal, nice if not. Our ceremony and reception are at the same place, a mansion facility, and we may not have a rehearsal. Our guest list is small and our ceremony will be brief-- 15min, 20 tops!

If you’re not having a rehearsal then they’re not necessary. If you are asking your friends and family to take time to rehearse then the courteous thing to do is feed them. But you don’t need to invite out of town guests.

Nice to have. I kind of wish we had the budget or the time for this, but it just isn't happening. I'm sure everything will turn out fine.

Need to have! Everyone invited to the rehearsal dinner would need to be there a day early anyways for getting ready early in the morning and such, so it's nice to get everyone together.

Need to have. but we’re just having everyone over to our place for pizza after the rehearsal. we’re all very close and casual people!

Need to have. If people are taking time out of there schedules to come and practice the wedding the least you can do is feed them lol

Nice to have. We are doing a rehearsal brunch and will then head to the venue. That way i figured everyone will get some sleep and not hang out all night.

Need to have since we are doing a rehearsal! You have to feed your bridal party and thank your parents!

Need to have. I think it’s also a nice time to spend together with your bridal party as a final Thank You, for having been with and helping you through the entire wedding planning process.

I think if you are having people come to rehearsal, you should have a dinner. It will be dinner time in most cases. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant though. We are just doing pulled pork sandwiches and other "picnic type" sides.

Need to have. I feel like its the least we could do since we are asking people to come to a rehearsal and in some cases travel down a day early.
