rehearsal dinner costs?

Shawna, on April 25, 2012 at 10:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

Hi folks! Another post got me thinking...

How much on average are people spending/budgeting for their rehearsal dinners. We are looking at about 20-25 people and are hoping to do it at some sort of restaurant. Tip, ideas, suggestions?! Thanks!!

It really depends on where you have it. We are having ours in the fellowship hall of the church where our ceremony will be held. We budgeted $400 cost of appetizers, main course, beverages and desert.

Well, when my FI and I were planning on it paying for it we figured it will be about $400 for 30 people at a resturaunt nearby (for salad, pizza and drinks). His mom has offered to pay though and is keeping at it at the same location but I think she is inviting some of her family coming from out of town so I'm not sure what its going to cost now.

What a dilema I am having right now. Were rehearsing at hotel and the hotel has a restaurant. I would like to do it somewhere else but, it seems having it there is convenient. 15 people

We are having pizza, salad and a dessert delivered to the church. For about 25 people, it will be right around $100, not including tip--thanks for the post--I have to remember to call and confirm the order today.

Wow thanks everyone! It helps to hear what others are doing and how much you are paying. For those who are having it at a restaurant, did you include booze? If so, how did they arrange that for you?

Our rehearsal dinner is the only catered meal for our wedding weekend. We're planning to spend $300 for catered pulled pork sandwiches and sides from a local restaurant for about 25 people.

I just found an upscale pub that I think I like that does appetizers/cocktail party in a private room...do you think this would suffice or should we provide a full meal?

Here's a sample menu for 15.99pp. not bad!

Grilled Beef and Chicken Satays with peanut dipping sauce

Asian Vegetable Spring Rolls with plum sauce

    Stacked Quesadillas

    with smoked jalapeno sour cream

Bombay Chicken Curry Rolls with rhubarb chutney

Warm Spinach, Artichoke and Stilton Cheese Dip with grilled focaccia spears

    Mini Fish and Chips

miniature version of our delicious deep fried haddock with

chips, in a mini newspaper cone
