Registry info on wedding invite?

Abby, on October 19, 2016 at 10:25 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

I just did a proof of my wedding invitation. I wasn't going to but I was told from a friend to put my registry info on the information card. I did and just showed my mom the proof and she told me absolutely not to do that. I asked another friend who also said to put it in there. Most things online say not to. Now I'm really confused! What is the correct "rule" or etiquette for this?!

Do you have a picture of the proof? I don't think your supposed to mention a registry on or with your invitation.

The registry info can go on your bridal shower invitations or wedding website, and is generally shared through word of mouth. It is rude to put it on the wedding invitation.

No No No. Registry information never goes on an invitation. It is done either on the website or word of mouth only.

It shouldn't be mentioned in any fashion with your wedding invitation suite, not even on an insert. If nobody is throwing you a shower, your registry info should be spread by word of mouth.

I wasn't going to but did because I was told to initially. And I did recently get an invitation to a wedding I'm attending next month and they put it. So I was confused. Thanks everyone. I will take it off!

I think you can put wedding info and registry info can be found on wedding web site and include link

We put it on our direction card that states things about the wedding such as complimentary valet parking and other info

There should be zero mention of registries or gifts in your invitation. Not even on a separate card.

What you can do is put a note in there that additional wedding info can be found on your website, and provide the web address to your wedding website. You can put registry info on your website. Registry info can also be spread by word of mouth if people ask you or ask people who are close to you.

Never on the wedding invitation. What BlueHenBride has said is correct.
