Of course! They are for you after all. Open them up and get a head start on thank you notes.

    Edited for grammar.

I think I've seen for gifts sent before the wedding, you have two weeks to send a thank you, so keep that in mind! Smiley smile

Definitely open. Not only to get ahead on the thank you notes, but to make sure nothing was broken in shipment.

Hell ya! Open that damn box , enjoy, and get the thank you note out! Boy that is a very early gift considering your not getting married for 3 months! Did you send out invites so soon?

What if they're coming to your shower in two weeks.... Still open?

@e=mc2 I think you should still open... I mean, its not like you're going to carry the gift in the shipping box to your own shower to open there. You just open it at home, write the thank you, and less lugging around for everyone lol

Yes. Go right ahead and open those suckers. What's the difference between wedding gifts delivered and ones received at a shower? They're both pre-wedding anyways so no need to wait. Plus it lets the senders know you received them when they get your thank you card. If they want them to be a surprise thry won't want to have to spoil it by calling to make sure you got them. Plus they'll feel awkward making that call like it sounding like they're fishing for their thank you. Heck, they did it on Father of the Bride so if it's good enough for Steve Martin it's good enough for you.

Woohoo okay. I just wasn't sure if they'd feel "embarrassed" not having everyone see me open their items, and they shipped to my parents house so I was going to make them lug any gifts, but makes sense!!!

I have been! Just a heads up...wait a couple days before sending out the thank you. I jumped the gun when we got our first one from an out of state friend a couple weeks ago, wrote the Thank You card and put it in a public mailbox (our postmen don't pick up mail from our houses), went home not even 3 minutes later and there was another gift from her!
