Red lip on wedding day?

I am toying around with the idea. Sorry can't let you know now, but I am trying it with my makeup trial in April. I LOVE the red lip look with any wedding dress, and the way it comes out in pictures. My photographer added in a free colorsplash picture of my choice (they run $75) the black and white photos with a color added into it, and I would love to be daring enough to wear the red lip look. However, I have to consider my age. I am an older "first time bride" - and while I am going traditional, and my dress makes me look beautiful as in age isn't a factor, but there are certain makeup looks I can not longer wear sadly enough. Try it with a trial. I do love the look though.

I love a red lip! I think its timeless and sassy...I'm not a lipstick wearer, so it just looks like I'm playing dress up when I put it on so I'll just wear a gloss. But I've seen great photos of brides wearing it

I think it depends on what you normally wear. I have heard that you don't want to look way too different from your normal look. so if you normally wear bright lipstick i say go for it

I never wear alot of make up so even though i have found the right red lipstick recently i wont be wearing it on my wedding day. i will personally be keeping it more on the natural side.

I did red. But then again, I wear red almost every single day. So it would have been really weird for me to have not worn it day of.

I love it, but can't really pull it off.

I love red lips but FH doesn't like it on his lips Lol so I will be wearing a neutral color.

If I had a vintage type dress I would totally do it, but I also wear red frequently (like in my avatar) so it's not out of character for me. For my wedding I want to go with a more natural, pink look. My advice would be to start trying it out, but your wedding is this weekend lol. If you don't wear it semi-regularly, I would play it save a go without becasue you may end up hating it and be stuck with all of those pictures in a look you don't like.

Yeah I'm with ya Mrspereira. I would love it!!! But I don't want to worry about how it looks all day, and FH doesn't really like it so much. Hey he is marrying me and I want him to like how I look.

Red lips are so sassy and beautiful but just don't work for me personally. I would be too afraid that by the end of the night it would be pale and smeared all over my face and I would end up looking like a little kid drinking fruit punch.

I really want to wear red lipstick! I don't do lipstick usually, but I have pretty colorful lips to begin with, so it is not too much of a change for me. This is my current make-up inspiration, we are going for an art deco type vibe.

I'm going for a vintage old Hollywood look, so I'm definitely wearing red lipstick. I have a Revlon lipstain that doesn't budge. It's my absolute favorite!

Same as FutureMrsPereira- I love a red lip, but FH doesn't like that we'd match by the end of the night, haha. Also I wonder if it'd be too much. I am considering it for the afterparty though, if I can find a really good one that doesn't rub off.

I'm doing a red lip. For you ladies that say you FH doesn't like it on his lips (which I think most guys don't) look into lip stains. Sally beauty supply has them, loreal used to sell them and they were amazing so I horded them. The stain does exactly what it sounds like, stains your lips without being a lipstick (picture taking a felt marker to your lips haha). It does dry out a little but it doesn't crack and dry like the long wear stuff and it stays put for a few hours even when drinking.

I use lime crime red velvet pretty much every day, it doesn't move.

@Christine no problem! I love my bright lips because I don't wear any other make-up normally it's a quick dress up method.

I'm definitely going with a deep red lip!

I wear bold lip colors a lot. So I'm definitely thinking about wearing red! The only problem is I'm afraid of it smudging and having to deal with the upkeep during the night. I need to find one that won't budge!
