reception order

I have been to weddings where they come in, cut the cake, do their first dance then eat. For our wedding, we are coming in, sitting down, doing toasts, doing dinner, cutting the cake, doing our first dance, etc.

You can do it either way. We are doing our first dance then eating..

We are going to eat, then do our dances, then cake.

This may be overzealous of me but I am hoping when FH and I sit down to work out our wedding day timeline we agree to do all the "wedding" stuff in the first 1/2 hour of the reception so we can party the rest of the night away! #yowo

This is my order

First dance when I enter

Father daughter dance

Dinner

toast and cake cutting will happen as people are eating.

Party and dance

people will be able to eat the cake when and if they want not set time.

Bouquet toss

Last dance.

We did first dance and toasts when we first entered the reception then did the toasts/parent dances/cake cutting between each dinner course.

I guess it does make sense to cut cake before starting the dancing.
