I have been to weddings where they come in, cut the cake, do their first dance then eat. For our wedding, we are coming in, sitting down, doing toasts, doing dinner, cutting the cake, doing our first dance, etc.

We are going to eat, then do our dances, then cake.

This may be overzealous of me but I am hoping when FH and I sit down to work out our wedding day timeline we agree to do all the "wedding" stuff in the first 1/2 hour of the reception so we can party the rest of the night away! #yowo Smiley smile

We did first dance and toasts when we first entered the reception then did the toasts/parent dances/cake cutting between each dinner course.

I guess it does make sense to cut cake before starting the dancing.
