Reception months after wedding -- what date for guestbook?

Ann, on June 24, 2021 at 12:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

We eloped in February and are having a very casual reception (drinks and appetizers at a party room at a restaurant) in July. The invitations said come celebrate with us, but I was going to have a custom guest book and some koozies printed for the guests of the party. What date should I put on these? The original wedding date? The date of the party? Should I try to combine them (like "united in love Feb... and celebrated with friends and family July...")??

I also have two dates and I've seen people do it either way. But for me personally the guest book will have the date of the party because that's when all the guests were there and I would do the date of the party for the koozies too for the same reason, they're favors for the day of the party. But there's no "right" answer. A lot of people that had to postpone already had a lot of stuff printed with the original date and using that on the new date is just as nice.

Anything that is specific to when we got married will have our actual wedding date on it i.e. personalized gifts will say "Est. Oct 4, 2020".

Thank you! I ended up putting both dates on the guest book and I think I'll see if the place making the koozies can do something similar.
