We plan to have tacos, rice, beans, queso, guacamole, chips. We tried a chain tex-mex place, but my fiancé wants street taco style food. It's gonna be laid back and we want food that tastes good as well as looking good. It'll be served buffet style, that way no food will be served to people that won't eat it. Like, I don't like guac, there would be no sense in serving it on my plate. That stuff is expensive. LOL

Buffet Style: Pulled Pork Sliders, Egg Rolls, Artichoke Dip, Fruit, assorted desserts. We wanted to do Appetizers because it is less expensive that way, but also you get variety. I'd like to have a couple of different options for my guests.

For the cocktail hour we had raspberry & Brie tarts. We had a buffet style- beef peppercorn or chicken Marsala, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, spring salad (ranch or balsamic vinaigrette) & Hawaiian sweet rolls (reg or honey butter). Yummy!

Buffet style bbq: smoked sliced brisket, pulled pork, smokehouse Mac and cheese, baked beans, pit roasted veggies, cornbread muffins and butter. We'll be having cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies, deviled eggs (from the caterer) and the bar open while we are taking pictures after the ceremony 🙂

I'm so hungry for lunch and everyone's food options sound sooo yummy!!

We're serving an option of house or Caesar salad, baked breads, entrees are chicken coq au vin and penne pasta with tomato sauce, sides are rice pilaf, oven roasted potatoes, buttered dilled carrots and green beans almondine. The package we selected comes with a ridiculous amount of desserts, but since we're serving wedding cake, we're planning on nixing most of them and keeping two options (in addition to the cake): blueberry trifle and bread pudding.

We’re doing a plate service with the menu potentially being: ribeye steak with tricolor potatoes and a petite asparagus bundle, a stuffed chicken breast with the same sides or a vegan option (not exactly sure what this will be yet). With a butter greens salad and citrus dressing.

    These all sound so good!

we'd just selected our menu (which is alternate plate) when we postponed due to covid, and I'm not sure if their menu is seasonal or if we'll have to pick something else, but we chose...

    starter

potato and herb gnocchi with tomato and Mediterranean vegetables

Cider braised pork belly, caramelised apple, sage and bacon puree

    main

Thyme roasted breast of chicken, dauphinoise potato, Pinot Noir sauce, heirloom carrots

Torchon of slow-cooked lamb shoulder, wrapped in prosciutto, sweet potato puree, rosemary sauce, caramelised onion jam

    dessert

    Dark chocolate éclair, Drambuie cream

Coconut and kaffir lime panacotta, pineapple salsa (GF, DF)

    Apple and rhubarb crumble tartlet

The desserts are served as mini sizes, along with the cake, and we will of course have vegan and appropriate allergy meals for some guests!

Tacos: asada, chicken, al pastor, mahi mahi and spicy potato and it comes with refried beans and spanish rice

It all comes with fresh hand pressed tortillas, salsa, guacamole, and the other taco accompaniments and a choice of two agua frescas.

I see a lot of taco bars and BBQ. Has anyone given thought to pasta bar? or would it be cold by the time people ate? just curious. we wanted to do the food truck, but after reading that threat I think we will go back to buffet style.

I attended a catered dinner for an employee appreciation event years ago by a very high rated caterer. The only food option was a made to order pasta bar and they expected dinner to be an hour from the start of cooking until everyone was done eating. But the cooking part took literally forever and guests did not get to eat at the same time. It’s great in theory but not in practice. Food trucks are very similar because they are only designed to serve 1-2 people at a time (think like the ones at festivals and fairs that have long lines and yet they have been in business for decades) and some will be finished eating when others are waiting to get their food.
